How do you feed your familiar? My wife is playing a bard and her familiar tells her that he is hungry and if she feeds him he will do something for her! Does she need to go and drink a few pints at an Inn

Moridin: I have a bard with a familiar; Pseudo-dragon Says the same thing, but he never seems to find anything edible. I suspect it's just something to make the discussions w/familiar interesting.
Oh yah, my familiar spend most of his time in my pack! LOL He gets offed and I lose a con point permanently and my bard in sing game has LOUSY stats!

Shame on you Moridan! (I was wondering where you got to! ) I haven't played a mage yet as there seems to be a over-abundance of them in the NPC's, but I thought it would be kinda cool to have a familiar (I've read somewhere you can have a pet if you're a ranger??? -Anyone know anything about this, other than Boo?).

SPOILER ALERT-- MINOR (VERY MINOR SPOILER)

I think that if you are the PC, any class can have a familiar. There is a scroll of Find Familiar somewhere early on in the game (maybe Irenicus' first dungeon)and I'm not 100% positive but I do think anyone (pc) can read it and cast.

If you are a Beastmaster (Ranger Kit) you can have a familiar. It´s one of the spells a Beastmaster gets along with Animal Summonings 1,2,3 at early levels.
I enjoyed playing a Beastmaster.

I have a problem along these same vein. I have a little flying creature that can polymorph into other creatures (like a druid) the problem is, I don't know how to change it back. It is a pretty good fighter, and it really helps in a big fight to have it and the spider fighting. Is there a way to get my familiar to polymorph back? Thanks

Click on the familiar and then click on the special abilities button. I think that should do it.

Are you sure that you can have a familiar if you are any class? I had assumed that my barbarian was out of luck (and other spellcasters simply can't have a familiar.) So I've been playing familiarless.

Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast. And then I went and made at least three of them come true before lunch.
