The FIRST time I met Bandoth he moaned about how we were Back Again!?! I had the extract he is supposed to want but it never came up in conversation. I have heard he has good spells to sell but I can't steer the conversation that way. Is this a game bug? I have version 1.06 straight off the CD.

That shouldn't happen in the initial dialogue with Bandoth. However if you already recovered the Razorvine extract before talking to him, the game can glitch. If you have a saved game prior to talking to him, try reloading that, talk to bandoth first and get the quest to find the extract. Go recover the extract and go back and talk to him again. Unfortunately I went counterclockwise around the cave so I got the extract, did the whole lich in the Hall of Heros thing, then found Bandoth, and I realy don't want to go back to before I got the extract.
Does he have anything I need to complete the game or can I just ignore or kill him? At the moment I have ignored him and am dealing with the ice salamanders.

Bandoth has four mage spells that can not be purchased anywhere else in the game. Aside from that, he has no quest items critical for the completion of the game. You could always use the console codes to hack in the scrolls. The spells are elemtal summoning spells.
