Do I need to hold onto keys and figures?

I have just finished both the Serpent Temple and Shurgrun (sp?) Castle and was just wondering if I should hold onto all the keys I collected, as well as the monkey figures, snake figure and 5 Evils, or are they are just taking up space in my inventory. After using them I picked them back up thinking they may have some resale value in town, but they don't even appear as an option when I sell items. Will I need any of these later to return to these areas as part of later quests or can I just drop them on the ground wherever I want more space to pick up treasures and weapons? Any advice would be appreciated.

Those items are no longer needed. I like to create a pile outside one of the city gates as a reminder of the quests I've completed. And, on occasion, I dig through the pile to see if there's any stuff I might/can use later in the game (usually not, though).

I figured they weren't needed, but just wanted to be sure. I've dropped items before with the intent to come back for them later and they were gone when I returned. Thanks for the info.
