Question: while creating a monk for my party, I did not have enough XP to invest in Con, Str, Dex and Wis. So I decided to raise my Dexterity to 18, while leaving my Wisdom at 10. Is this wise, or should I alter this?

Definately change that. No offense, but having a monk with only 10 WIS is putting him/her on par with your mages in melee ability.

Optimal powergamer build:

STR 16 or 18
DEX 18
CON 16 or 18
INT 3
WIS 18
CHA 3

If you don't want to minimize CHA and INT, take points out of strength and constitution. Since monks don't get armor, they must rely on their DEX and WIS for protection. Also, stunning attack and quivering palm use the WIS modifier for the difficulty class.

Ah.. I didn't know that Monks use Wisdom for their special abs as well. I guess I'll have to lower Str and Dex then. Thanks Marty.

Ease of Use regards monk fists as daggers, so Weapon Finesse is a great feat for them. Yes!
I find it a good balance to have 12/120 fo some races)/12/10/18/8. Their ACs are really sick, and altho their HP aren't really great, their AC, Resistance and Reduction later make them immortal. Now if only they could wear robes...

yes, I find it odd that they can't wer robes without penalty. I find robes very "monk-ish"!

Of course, if you really want to achieve the ultimate monk AC then you gotta multiclass them with a dreadmaster and sorceror, getting huge wisdom benifits and Tenser's Transformation.

You need to download the EoU (ease of use) mod to count fists as daggers.

I'd take Focus in a ranged weapon, improved critical, weapon finesse if you have EoU, and other basic melee feats. The saving roll increasers IMO are not needed for the monk, though that is your choice.

Thanks for the tips!

where can I get the EoU, and what other things does this mod do? If it make them count as daggers, does this mean that proficency in "simple weapons; small blade" is a good choice as well?
