I just DLed a set of your portraits and the "S" ones are RGB color, 8-bits per channel.

The size and color depth rules I posted were pasted directly from the game's "readme" file.

Perhaps the name and location of the "install" folder needs to be explicitly told. The (default)name of the "install" folder on a windows 9x system is "Baldur's Gate" It is located on the hard drive at the following location: C\Program Files\Black Isle\ The Baldur's Gate folder that is in Black Isle Folder needs to have a new folder created in it named "Portraits" I hope this helps

I dnt understand how you are struggling on this.....

But this thread has confused me...what exactly are u stuck on.

well i just cant figure out how to edit the color depth of the image i want to use, perhaps i could send it to one of you? the only possible programs i have on the computer that might do this are paint, imaging and adobe photo deluxe, but i have tried with all of them and cant find a way to do it.
