A bizzare thing happened to me when I went to, um, "talk" to Perth the Adept in Brynlaw. During our "discussion" I managed to kill him and gained 20,000XP as well as his wardstone and his book, but for some reason he continued to cast spells at us?? I couldn't find anything to hit, but there was this constant stream of spells coming from "Perth the Adept." Even stranger is that when Minsc finally failed his saving throw and became confused, he was able to hit and damage Perth, even though Perth was nowhere to be seen. As far as I know, even an invisible mage becomes visible when he is casting offensive spells, right? What is going on? My party eventually got killed off, although I tried every spell I knew, and I haven't tried it again -- is this some kind of bug?

I didn't see simalcrum cast. Also, I've fought simalcrum's before and when you kill it, the 'original' can be attacked. Plus, I think you can see the original -- there was no feedback circle anywhere -- he was compeletly invisible, but I could tell where he was because he was also casting some combat protections which surrounded the space where (presumably) the game engine though he should be.) But, to reiterate, no feedback circle, or paper doll, or anything to target whatsoever (but my "confused" Minsc did manage to hit him????) One item of note is that I think I killed him at precisely the instant that he got a spell off -- could that have messed up the game engine?

P.S. I plan to reload and try again as soon as I get off work -- I hate work!! It interferes with my role-playing.

I had this once. I killed him when he was in the MIDDLE of casting simulacrum and got stuffed by this. Instead of "Casting Failure" I got this bug. I reloaded from entrance to building and whopped him again, which seemed to work.

Yeah, I went back and killed him no problem after I reloaded. I think that there may be a bug with the Simalcrum spell. I sent an email to Black Isle to let them know.
