I agree with that - these men *could* probably take out their abusive wives easily, it's not about physical power there. If he loves her, he'll make allowances, even ones he shouldn't make. He probably has ethical problems with hitting a woman and so won't defend himself, even though he could. Plus like the movie mentions, they aren't believed anywhere, and if they are, they're ridiculed. Very sad.
