need help with serpent temple quest

I need help for the sake of my sanity, kind people..
I completely finished the crypt quest and made a post on the 8th which is now not even showing on the forum. My problem is this ---------
I CAN'T FIND the serpent's temple!!! I have spoken to the oracles and they told me my destiny lied west... and that I should go to the serpent temple by following the river to the west.
Well.. I would love to do that... but the cave is a dead end. I have a feeling that I am supposed to go through a place where there is currently a WALL. I have torn every other inch of landscape up 3 or 4 times very thoroughly. There is no other way to this temple.
Am I overlooking something, or is there some reason why I can't go west from the cave? Please help me!!

Inside that cave there will be a wall of flame behind which reside three oracles. Don't get too close, and talk to the oracle in the center. Be sure to use all your discussion selections and he will eventually open the wall to the west. You may then continue onto the serpent temple.

Talk to the oracles again, and use the keyword "Destiny". The cave should open, and you can visit Ishad N'ha and the Temple.
