how to buy

i have tried to buy from an npc but when i click on the buy
scroll nothing happens. when i talk to them and then ask to trade
they put up an ankh and i thy to buy. will not allow me to buy.
what am i doing wrong.

When you have the item you want to buy in the little window, click on the NPC.
