Hi,
Something happened to one of my party members. So i want her back. Her portrait is missing not grey. I have Wish and wis of 16 and than what ? Each time different wishes good or bad. When I learned this spell one of the sentences was to raise my dead party members, but I can not see it after 20 wishes. So raise dead, harpers call, etc will work when I have target for them, now I have not. Can I return her ? |

He/She was killed with a critical strike. That means that the body is far to mangled to be reanimated. As far as I know, they are dead and gone forever. But, I may be wrong. One of the local gurus might know a way to bring them back without reloading.

I don't think there is a way to bring him/her back, I've had it happen to me many times before but I've never found a way to resurrect them. Only way I know is to use CLUAConsole.

There is no way to bring back permanently dead party member. Although, if you really miss him/her so much you can use console to bring him/her back (unless you play mp).
To use the console, open Baldur.ini file in your BG2 folder and under the game options write the following): Cheats=1 Debug Mode=1 Then enter the game and call the console pressing 'ctrl'+'space'. Then write: CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("CHRNAME"). Instead of "CHRNAME" type NPC's code. Please, tell me who do you want to bring back so I (or someone else) could give you code for him/her. I'm not very experienced in BGII, but I thought in the manual that it said that sometimes characters will appear to be gone forever, but they can be brought back via a wish. Is this just something that's part of the plot where a certain person dies and you have to use a wish spell, or is it supposed to work whenever? (I haven't finished the game yet.)

He/She has died a chunky death, the corpse is nothing more than a pile of intestants and limbs.... no priest nor deity can resurrect some one that was killed in such a violant way, there is simply no body to use the Resurrection spell on..
So much for the background... CLUAConsole is the answer here, follow the info that was given by Flaming Fist Enforcer to enable the CLUAConsole. Wich Character has gone chunky on you? This is important to know because if your going to use CLUA you need to type in the right command to ''create'' the NPC. Also, the character will not have the same level as he/she once was... he/she starts at the same level when you first picked him/her up... Try a previous savegame and try to prevent the chunky death (set the game on novice for all I care), because its a hassle to CLUAConsole an NPC in-game (losing all learned mage spells (optional), levels, romance (optional)) And its considerd cheating [ 04-12-2003, 01:02 PM: Message edited by: Annatar ]

Besides, even if you get the option to raise all dead party-members ... what dead party-member ? She's not in your party anymore, her Icon's gone .. so I'm afraid there is indeed no way to bring her back.

after bringing back the Character you can use the saved gave editor Shadow Keeper to bring the NPC hit points and supplies back to where they were before they died.

Once the portrait is gone doesnt mean they are perm gone... the portrait goes away when a npc is imprisoned or petrified, and you can fix both of those statuses.
However, as Annatar said, dying a chuncky death is perm, without cheating. I would just reload and do it again, as using CLUA is cheeting

well as I understand I can not return her via wish and when I'm playing games I don't like to cheat so I'm supposed to do that battle again. This was what I'm afraid of. Yes I have quick save before the battle that took her.
(ToB WK spoilers) ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ But my enemies are The huntress, Ameralis Zauviir, Xei Win Toh, Hive Mother, Y'tossi and Nalmissra. I don't know if you people have fought with them, but if you know them you wont fight with them again. Poor I. |
