I never even tried the Crystal Desert armor because some if required insane things like five of those godduh Wurm shells. They drop once in a blue moon and Wurms are clustered in between enough other nasties that I'm not going hunting for them solo or with only one hench.
Personally I prefer the hammer, because I likes me some knockdowns. If I was working with another warrior or some casters that knew what they were doing, I'd totally go hammer. If I was the main tank, though, I'd probably stick with sword or axe so I could soak more hurtability. |

Hmmm, I never had any armor that required wurm shells although I think there is one specific (attribute) headgear that does. Nearly all the Desert armor collectors are right outside the outposts/mission areas (with a couple special exceptions).
I tentatively agree with Purple about when to go hammer as opposed to the others. With the slowness of the hammer, unless you're constantly on the skill buttons hitting hurry-you-up skills, you're much better off *when in a group*, especially if you're the only tank or one of a pair, to go with either sword or axe. Generally, this is what I've noticed in groups with experienced players, anyhow.

Since hammer is one of the eaiser warrior weapons to apply weakness & knockdowns it is a nice choice.
With the recent boost to weakness I could prove useful. You can also apply weakness with Axes as well.

Hope this is not a daft question, but what is weakness?

Weakness is a Condition that significantly lowers all damage done with attacks(Though not bonus damage from, say, Power Attack.), recently, however, it was addended so that while afflicted with Weakness, a character also has a penalty to all their abilities. I think every stat is reduced by 2, though I'm not 100% sure.

Cheers,
Was also reading about axe skills, so said only works when enemies is bleeding, does that mean you have to use another skill to get them to bleed? How do you remember what they all do!!

You can only bring eight skills at once, so it's not too bad, those are the only ones you need to keep track of while you're on a mission. And you only need to mix skills from one, at most two, classes at once, it's easier to keep track of than it seems.
Especially since you're also likely to, at most, have the skills from two or three stats to keep track of, essentially narrowing the list down to that of a single class. And yes, that means first you use one skill that makes them bleed, then you whack them with the other one while they're still bleeding. Good combos are the core of an effective build, skills that complement each other. Additionally, disregard the stat penalty thing about Weakness, it was a temporary change, but they've apparently rolled all of their temp changes back for the moment to evaluate which ones were balanced and which ones were insane. |

Great! thanks again Purple.
Still can't decide on what weapon to go for first, hopefully I'll get some time to play this weekend and try them out!!

I'd suggest sword, Target, like I said, it's what you first get some handy skills for, and the shield boosting your armor means it's a bit more forgiving for a newbie.
