So there I was, just having cleard the Ice Temple Level 1. I went back to Oswald, because I needed a break, thought maybe I'd sell some stuff, and plus I needed to give him the belladonna.

I had forgotten that he also had some Winter Wolf clothes ready for me, but when I picked them up, I noticed that Winter Wolf clothes not only give cold protection, but-- unlike Yeti Pelt clothes-- they also give a +1 to Charisma. This makes sense. After all, yetis are shaggy and smelly, but a lush white Winter Wolf cloak has gotta be a pretty good-looking item. And then I thought-- hey, if a cloak looks good, how about a cloak, matching hat, boots and gloves? My party is all female, so it would be like walking around Faerun with a party of Elizabeth Taylors (who fight).

But guess what? The Charisma bonus does not stack!!.

That's just wrong. It really should stack. You certainly paid enough for Oswald to make the clothes, so it's not as if it's some kind of cheat, and it makes logical sense that the more beautiful items you are wearing, the more beautiful you are perceived to be.

I had saved before ordering the clothes, so it's not a question of money, but it really bummed me out, that little error, and so I wanted to gripe about it.

BTW--------request for minor spoiler------------------------

Will I ever encounter a merchant who buys the armor made from boring beetle shell for something approaching what I paid for it? Or should I only have Oswald make what I actually can use, and throw the rest of the shells away? Or can I sell them to another merchant in the future (since I do know I'm going to Kuldahar someday)?

hm...you use the beetle shells for quite a while...i mean, they ARE useful, but...no one ever really gives you 100% of what you paid to have them made

The Beetle Field Plate is the "best" armor in the game, IMHO. Sure, there are a couple of armors that have a higher AC bonus, but you don't get them until much, much later in the game. You get the 1/4 wgt Beetle Field Plate (+8 AC bonus) very early in the game and will get excellent value for it.

Additionally, the fact that it only wieghs about 15-17 lbs makes it very excellent armor for less than maxed out STR clerics.

Yah, OK, but in a party of four, I have only 2 members who can use this plate, and only one who actually is using the plate I had made.

I didn't at first understand how making the plate works, so I have more suits than I need, and a whole lot of unused beetle shells (because I didn't destroy the nest so fast, a lot of beetles appeared).

I was mostly wondering if Conlan would buy the extra suits for more than what Oswald will buy them back for, and if Conlan would buy the extra shells, or should I just get them out of my Bag of Holding.

motub, I doubt that you'll ever get big money for the bettle armor, regradless of who you sell it to.
