s'a bit presumptuous ain't it mate? Both Argentina and Yugoslavia played with skill and determination, who's to say that they wouldn't have won?
I say that mate, you just watch next time. They won't make a mistake like this again.

@Unca Johnny: I realize that the odds are stacked towards the US team but the way you said it sounded like the rest of the teams suck, and I was pointing out that this wasn't the case

If it's going to upset the Aussies then I'm cheering the Enzedders!

I never really interested myself in basketball, but I do like to watch it. Especially Rodman (although he quit, didn't he?) cos he was always in a fight And the Dutch commentator (called Mart Smeets) is too cool commentating basketball

Damn right there weren't, and the tourney was poorer for them not being there. I remember back in 1992 you had All-Stars and Hall of Famers like Jordan, Bird, Magic, Malone, Stockton, Barkley, Robinson, Ewing, etc all lining up to play and represent their country. Chris Mullin was injured for most of the regular season but busted his ass to get fit and play. Where are the guys you mentioned earlier? Playing Nintendo and counting their $$$, do doubt. Uh-huh...if you say so, Johnny. I seem to remember people saying the same about THIS team just before the tournament. This team had guys like Ben Wallace, the NBA Defensive Player of the Year, it had Michael Finley, Paul Pierce, Andre Miller, Reggie Miller, Antonio Davis...they were not your el-cheapo NBA players. At least they decided to turn up and play for their country, eh? Team USA were so confident they only bothered to get together to practice two weeks before the start of the tournament. Can anyone spell A-R-R-O-G-A-N-C-E?

Only the fifth person in the history of cricket to score four test centuries in a summer.

And he's coming to a ground near you SOON!

Headingly? Wasn't that where Botham... - no it couldn't be!

I am glad to see the loss, because when somebody gets so prideful as to think they are unbeatable...then their pride and arrogance is their worst enemy. It takes a humbling experience like this to teach us that we are not the best, just because basketball is more popular here than in other countries where futbol is the dominant sport.

Hmmm, this sounds a lot like our current foreign policy!
