hello everyone!

I had my family christmas party on saturday, oooh fun. On the brightside i took my girlfriend so as not to be too terribly bored. She met most of the family that i actuallly knew the names of, and i got to show off what a pretty girl i have found to make me happy.

So it all balanced out nicely.

So how many of 'em gave her the "why'd you pick *him*" routine? That's the true sign of how much they like her...

Morning, all

Had some fun this weekend, taking the kids skiing. Some of you may recall that when they had lessons last year, I joined. Figured I might as well learn how to do it before it got too embarrassing.

It was fun, so the kids signed up for the ski club this year. We got a parent pass, too... cheaper rates for us

Well, first thing we did was to head for the bunny hill to try to remember what we learned last year. Wasn't too bad... and like last year, I'm not so good on stopping.

I'm in the practice of letting the kids start down the slope first so if they run into anything, I can stop and help them out.

However, as I said, I'm really pathetic on stopping. You know that snowplow wedge thing you're supposed to do? When I do that, I just keep going nice and fast, but with the skis formed into a wedge. Large parts of my downhill trip revolve around trying not to (a) kill or (b) be killed.

On one run, my son fell. He'd been having problems getting back up, so I went down to him. As I got to him, I realized I couldn't stop... nope, nosirreebob. As I whooshed past, I heard him holler "Dad, I fell!" Saw him at the bottom... when he finally made it down.

So I think there's another lesson in there for me... time to schedule some time to learn how to stop... Stop... SSSSTTTOOOPPPP!!!!!!!!

*crash* *bang* *whimper*

Kids had a great time, though. And so did I, when I wasn't wondering how they were going to get home with me at a hospital...

Hehe.. we'll get a large supply of dry blankets, hot chocolate and ankle/knee wrap together for the winter, Bungleau! Sounds like a great time for you and the youngsters to bond. Assuming you don't hit anything bigger than a little snow pile or two!

Since I moved 10 years ago, I have not skied at all. You have to drive an hour and with the weather trends, the skiing is not very good.

I keep looking at my skies and boots thinking, I should put them up for sale....

I finally got my palaeobiology drawings folder finished, and now just have a chemistry report to write up. Then I'm all set to head home on Saturday.

Plus I've picked up a copy of Planescape: Torment. This is, of course, eating into the time I should be working in...
