Is there any protection against this spell. Those Greater Mummies are causing me a great trouble. Can't do anything, my heroes are just standing. I'm in that level (wyrmths touch-or something) with sons of Ilmater.
Second thing-I've posted this earlier, but seems noone understud me.Each spell I can cast only once, even in spell description stands that it can be cast several yimes. When I rest , then I can cast again, 'till then nothing. Why is it like this?

I'm positive that Chaotic Commands will help. It's a 5th or 6th level Priest-spell.

That's AD&D's spellcasting system. A Wizard or Priest memorizes, i.e. commits to memory, the chants, gestures and other actions required to cast a particular spell. When he casts it, those chants and gestures etc. are removed from his memory as a side-effect of the magic. Legend has it that in ancient times this restriction didn't exist, resulting in spellcasters being able to cast each memorized spell ad infinitum, making them incredibly powerful. Thus Mystra, goddess of magic, made it so that after casting a spell, the requirements left a Wizard's memory.
So if you want to cast a spell multiple times without having to rest, you need to memorize it multiple times. You probably misunderstood the spell descriptions ; where it says that a spell can be cast several times, it probably means that it's effects are cumulative, for instance, Bless gives +1 to THAC0, AC and saving throws, if cast again, the total bonus will be 2.

Do not be mislead by the singular icon. Think of it as memorising 5-6 spells. If each icon represented one spell, Paladins would have a very, very, long list. It's just to make things neater.

It's Charm Animal, to be precise. And to be totally precise, that Special Ability isn't a spell at all, rather just what it says, an ability. This may be a bit confusing, but the Charm Animal-icon that appears in the Priest-spellbook of Druids and Rangers is a spell, while the Charm Animal-icon that appears in a Ranger's Special Abilities tab is not a spell - Rangers have an affinity with animals, they can mimic their sounds, make soothing noises etc., to calm them down and make them friendly. This can be done via a spell, with the normal restrictions for spellcasting, but Rangers can also do it the 'normal' way, like you and I could probably do in the real world would we know how to.

As a rule, things you find under the Special Abilities tab are either not a spell at all but a special skill (like a Rangers Charm Animal and Tracking if you have HoW, or, from BG2:SoA, a Berserker's Rage or a Kensai's Kai), or a spell that has been somehow imbued in the characters system, so that it may be cast a fixed number of times per day without the use of a spellbook (like a Druid's Shapeshifting abilities, or, again from BG2:SoA, a Priest of Lathander's Hold Undead).
