Can u set it so that when u are downloading patches on mIRC on channel #BGT that if u get d/c and then reconnect ur patch will resume automatically. This is because i have freeserveand it auto disconnects after 2 hours. Does anyone know if ther is a way to switch that off?

Its not doable with mIRC AFAIK, although there will be a program to do it. Ill have a look for one.
And no, you cant persuade freeserve to drop that 2-hour cutoff.

I spent half an hour trying to get auto-resume working on mIRC. Mind sharing?
And no, I havent tried emailing freeserve because it isnt a technical problem (not from their perspective) and it is mentioned in the terms of service agreement we both signed unread. Therefore they dont have any reason to drop the cutoff.

Anyway, just start the download again (as in, use the "get"-command again), and when you've accepted the file, it will ask if you want to resume, or start all over again. |

auto]
As in, I set the computer downloading, go to the pub, 2 hours later it drops the connection, redials and reconnects. I can do that on FTP transfer, but not DCC.
