I dunno, I still hold out hope, it is a tough case but I feel confident in the police force, they are working OT and giving their best. Plus who knows what will come of these phone calls they seem to be getting. Who knows who it is from, the killer, a witness or someone who knows the killer, or on the bad side, another freak making up stories. Police Chief Moose would not say who the calls were coming from, no matter how many questions the reporters kept asking about it, yet on FOX5 NEWS they are saying "Police have been communicating with the Sniper, tune in at 5:00pm"! So either something has been leaked and the media has decided to screw the police and reveal their secrets to the sniper on air, or they don't know but want ratings so just said that to get people to "tune in." I wasn't getting at you for that part. I can fully imagine that a fair amount of racial profiling does exist but the way it sounded, it was as though the cops weren't working as hard at catching the guy because he is "probably" a white guy as opposed to being coloured.

Well it's a shame if that kind of thing happens in Richmond, but you can't really presume that things are the same in other areas. I think that police are ready to nab ANYONE at this point, and using evidence to try to catch this/these guys(s), I don't think anyone is using prejudice opinions, I think they want to find the REAL killers no matter what, no matter who they are, and are checking everyone in a white van, anyone who they may have gotten a call about on their hotline, etc. Of course this is a serious, BIG deal right now, so I'm not saying that things are conducted differently some places on other issues. But as for this ONE issue, the Sniper killers, I truly think true investigative measures are being taken, and nobody is eliminated as a potential culprit.

You are such a great writer Lady Z1!
opps, did I slip with that 1 Already the suspects picked up this morning are clear- hundreds of people are on this investigation.Everyone is being checked out. And dialog appearently has taken place today of some sort between the sniper and officers. Very weird press release on the same. As I said in a prior thread part of an anti-terrorism flight sequence is in place for awhile now. I can hear the aircraft, for I am in the flight path of many. I can say for the record that my boss lives in the area of the first days wake of cold-blooded killings. He said that its someone who really knows the rush hour habits of this area and thats only how they could pull this off. Still leads me to beleive its more then one. One in Virginia, mybe shooter in Maryland. Lived here for A long time I think.

I have no idea why you would even post this. I'm sure you didn't just post it to get a reaction as that would be trolling and y'all know better
That WAS a trolling post, and has NOTHING to do with the sniper case at all. It was removed. [ 10-21-2002, 10:58 PM: Message edited by: Ziroc ] |

Some of you that live in the Maryland, Northern Vir. area (you others can join in ). Something has been bothering me with the last couple of shootings. With the dragnet that the police have brought down on the main roads and the side roads how's the shooter getting away? I checked out a map of Ashland and found a couple of smaller rural roads that could of been used, but there would of still been a certain amount of traveling on the main roads to get to the rural roads. Now add that to the apparent fact (news sources) the shots came from a wooded area, which means the sniper would have to walk in and out. The sniper is shooting into a lighted area, from a darkened area, then must flee ASAP through the darkened woods (in the case of the last shooting), get into a van and drive away without causing any undue attenion to himself and his vehicle. Consuming time, valuable time needed for the get away, presumably by van, with the police looking for vechiles. Now to the part that is bothering me. Are there any motels near by to either of the last 2 shootings within a short walking distance? With the police and the public looking for vans, how close are they watching foot traffic?

It looks as though the sniper has shot another man while he was getting off a bus. This is just getting scary now! To think that someone can get away with it for this long.

The Bus Driver died about an hour or so ago. He was standing on the top step of his bus when he was gunned down. I read on CNN the the Sniper has made some type of vague monetary demand or he will start shooting more children. That was apparently part of the note that was found at the Shooting scene in Richmond. I personally don't buy that. This guy is yanking the chain of the police. Trying to through them off balance. This guy is getting off on the power that he is currently welding. I bet he could be flushed out if the press would stop reporting about him. It would probably drive him even further around the bend and then he might make a mistake by trying more open attacks. Not that I'm an expert on manics are anything. (sigh...) Just wishe they'd hurry up and get him!
