I am planning on getting NWN very soon, but I have a few questions about the toolset that are not in the book.
1. When you place a dragon, can you edit the appearence of their human/elven form? 2. Can you make oceans and lakes? I know you can make rivers but wasn't sure about oceans and islands and ships. 3. Can you make quests for just ONE class or race? ex. Quest for only paladins, or only for elves etc. 4. my last question is, if there are multiple choices about where to go in your world, is there a map to select it on? (like Baulder's Gate.)

1. Dragons only have their base form, no human or elf, unfortunately.
2. You can make bodies of water that border the map. You can't really create an ocean though. You can make ships. 3. Yes. In a dialogue option, simply say that only that class or race can access that conversation part, and start a quest from their. 4. No. There is no overall view, only moving from area to area manually, which means that spaced out modules can get tedious fast (walking around more than actually doing something.)

Hope you like NWN when you get it, here are a few answers:
1)The dragons dont have an elvish/human form 2)You can place ships on lakes. But not oceans. Only on rural, and city can you have them though. 3)Yes, you can. You have to do it in conversation, Text appear when, and then, Player is certain race. 4)No, there isnt an over all map. You only move from area to area, via one area. So like if you want to go to lets say, a town, and you are in another town, you have to go on the road conecting them first. Hope that helped Ryan Trawl (I see you like BG2). |

Well, for your question #1: It could be scripted... if you want help with this when you get the game, lemme know 4 sure! and ships would be possible, but it would take a lot more work... Here's my idea: Extract the tileset ship into 3dsmax, modify it to a Character model (NPC, PC, or monster model), add animation, then have the PC be polymorphed into the boat model? only problem would be restricting it to water...

Oh well thanks. thats a shame about ships and oceans, because my idea for my stating point at the very begining, was to have the PC be standing on a dock, having gotten off a ship from overseas, and heading into my port town. what would you suggest I do to simmulate it?

Actually, I'm pretty sure that can be done. It was certainly done in the Pool of Radiance mod.

Yes, it can be done. All you need to do, is make a rural or city exterior area. Put some water down, and a big boat with a dock. Put the NPC on the dock, give him a little conversation. If you want hm to walk into the town, then give him some way points. Hey presto, its done. If you need any help, just reply back.
