Oh, and Grojlach, I didn't know Gregorian Monk Chants were so popular these days. Otherwise they would be put in there, but for now they are under the 'World' category.

Reggae? Electronical? Noise? Ska? Next you will want Gagaku, Jali, and Wolof music... sheesh!
Well, you *did* include Bluegrass, and I can assure you most of the genres I mentioned are a bit more popular than that one. Bluegrass is just a subgenre, metal, electronical and reggae are not.

Oh, and if you were really trying to be complete: R&B, Funk and Soul were nowhere to be found either.

I begg to differ! Bluegrass is NOT a subgenre! Country music is a Subgenre. Bluegrass preceded country by at least a century. It just wasn't called that.

Okies, then bluegrass is *not* a subgenre, as you wish... Though he did miss a lot of other major genres that at least here in the Netherlands are "bigger" than bluegrass.

Bluegrass preceded Country by a long shot... it's quite different from today's "country", which is actually a type of pop music.
I admit I forgot quite a few... blues, doo wop, soul, gospel, stuff like that. Sorry if I forgot you favorite type of music, I just put the stuff that popped into my head first.

Normally they use a tag like "roots" to include both bluegrass and country, though...
