Talthyr - I do remember "Hate to Say I told You So" being played quite frequently on various channels when I was back home. But up here I don't really have access to that kind of stuff anymore.

I can sympathize a little, Epona, with your headache (...hands over a cup of fresh coffee...)...after nearly freezing vital parts off for the last few mornings, this morn was above freezing--and the heaters were still going full tilt which meant the house is now stuffy and overly warm and the sinuses are rebelling, causing a not-nice little headache. NOT that I'll give up the warmer weather, though!

I don't have a problem with the SWP, and one of the things I don't like about the AWL is the sectarianism towards you guys. But I also tend to find my politics closer to theirs. What the hell! We are all Loony and Left! Actually... I'm going to put that in my sig...

100 points, you win - I knew it would be an easy one to guess!! It is some individuals that are sectarian, not everyone. Both parties have been collaborating OK over the SA in most areas, it's a step in the right direction. Division just weakens us all.

Well, the SA is looking weak at the moment what with the Socialist party leaving and all. But I think you are probably right -as long as we stick at it then we are stronger than otherwise.

Just as an aside, we may be Loony and Left but the other group I am in are infinitely worse. Ever heard of the RCG? Rather hardline I am afraid, I agree with some of their stuff but at the moment I am just looking for the right time to get the hell out of there.

And as for not knowing each other, well, are you implying the left is small? No SWP member would do that, surely? So it isn't too much of a coincidence. Also I don't tend to go to SWP meetings all that often, or at all in fact. It might be a bit weird, not being a member.

RCG, yes I know of them! It's OK, I wasn't suggesting that the left was small (could be bigger of course!) but aren't you at the LSE? If not, then ignore that part of my previous post - I used to do a lot of leafletting there & go to some of the debates in the evenings, sometimes there were other groups leafletting and attending too, possibly including the AWL - but it might have been before your time, a couple of years ago now. That was my reasoning, it would have been clearer if I'd said that but my brain is only half working today...

Ah, well I have only been here since last October, so that might be why I haven't seen you around. The AWL has never really been that involved at LSE despite the fact it is a largely student organisation. A bit weird I suppose, but heh! Anyway, I have to go and eat food, this may be a cafe but I can't get a good RL meal here. However hard I try.
