Ok, I am having LOTS of problem with my computer lately. I've reinstalled windows 3 times in 2 weeks, and I'm probably going to have to do it again in a few days.

My computer is getting VERY slow. If I delete lots of files at the same time, explorer will freeze for like 30seconds-2minutes, sometimes it will even stay frozen. Sometimes when loading an iternet page, Internet exporer will also freeze for some time.

I get strange Internet Exlorer glitches, I'll see some white squares on the page, usually when that happen, I'm pretty sure I'm going to crash in the few next actions. It happened just 2 mins ago. I was seeing the glitches, so I pressed print screen so that I could paste it in paint, and trying to open paint gave me a fatal error and restarted my computer.

Internet explorer also keep crashing all the time, and my windows keep rebooting for no reason. Earlier today, double clicking my Diablo2.exe made my computer reboot.

I made a scan disk, and there is nothing wrong. I also defragmented, and it did not help. I scaned my computer using Norton Antivirus 2003, and it found nothing. (That was before the last time I reinstalled windows, now when I try to reinstall it, it won't even install all the files. But this was not a "clean" windows install, I didn't format)

It's also not my windows. It first started happening when I was using windows 98 first edition. I formated, deleted my partition and recreated it, and then installed win 98se, and it's still doing it.

Does anyone have any idea what it could be?

reformatting should have eliminated any software problems, but with a totally pristine windows install are there any problems?

also, perhaps faulty ram if you are getting random crashing and whatnot.... perhaps try memtest too see if your ram is ok.

It's hard to tell if it does it with a fresh windows install as those bugs happen randomly as far as I know. It usually take a few days after a fresh install before they show up, but I don't know if it's just luck or something else.

I even limited what I installed on my computer to make sure I was safe. All I have are my drivers, the latest windows update, madia player 7.1, adobe reader 6.0, Zone Alarm, Win RAR, Baldur's Gate 1 and Nero.

Perhaps your hard-drive is dying? I don't know what kinda PC you have now but I do remember you mentioning in the IWD2 forum that it was pretty old (like my last one). You should probably try checking it's health online...I know there are sites that do this I just can't remember the URL's. If this is the case it can eventually lead to you loosing everything as your PC simply won't boot up anymore so it's a good idea to rule that out firstly.
Trust me it can be ugly and I talk from experience ...

Sounds like you are might be having hardware problem. I think you might want to check the RAM, CPU and mobo.

I don't know how to do that or the hard drive either.

Now that I think about it, sometimes I lose control of my mouse pointer, too. It will freeze and I won't be able to move it no mather what. After rebooting I can control it again.

Either it's a hardware problem, or a NASTY virus. There are some viruses now that can hide in your RAM or other areas when you reformat. So, just for troubleshooting, do you have an updated virus-checker? If so, have you scanned everything?

If this passes, then it's probably a hardware problem.

As I said earlier, I saw nothing while scaning with Norton Antivirus 2003, but as I also said, I can't install it anymore. It install some files but not al of them.

I doubt it has anything to do with a virus as my antivirus detected a virus I received from email, which prove that's it was working when I scaned my computer.

EDIT: I also looked at msconfig and at my all the program running when I press ctrl+alt+del, and from what I've read on the net, all of them are legit.
