Okay, I've made it to the orc fortress and WAS kicking @ss, but my leader got charmed/controlled by an enemy shamen. I didn't like that idea so I charmed him back on my side. Anway I killed everything, and waited for the spell to wear off. When it did I noticed that I could no-longer click on my leader! He is on my team, but the only way I can controll him is if I charm him again. And if I DO charm him, I can no-longer use his quick-use items or special skills! Help me, what can I do. I really dont want to have to start again.

Oooo

Try saving and closing to desktop and restarting the save. If that doesn't work, save/export your char, remove him from the party, and reimport him.

This happend to someone else about a month ago. The export thing should work. But quicker would be to Kill then Resurect. A little K&R will fix damn near anything. Aparently you NEVER want to use enchantment on your own party, throws a MAJOR wrench in the works.

Exactly... A dispel magic is often the better way to go... Or if you dont want to dispel all the enchantments on him, resilliant sphere him for a while.

What about the "perma-charmed" monsters? Does the patch deal with that? What I notice almost all the time I charm an enemy is that he becomes my "friend to the end" - and if I kill him I get no exp.

I dont think the patch fixed that. I have patched my game and when I charmed gobbies they would stay charmed even if I SLEPT! Maybe its just the Gobbies though.

Firstly, I installed the latest patch before I played the game. Scondly I tried killing him and Resurecting him, but that didn't work. Then I tried exporting and re-importing... didn't work.
So, I resulted to Dalekeeper. I hate cheating but I was desperate. I noticed that all my char's except my leader were set to 'PC' in the characteristics section, my leader however was set to 'Goodcutoff'. I changed him back to
PC and whalla! I can control him again
