2. what are the specific class bonuses?

the DEX question is simple.
arrows, bullets and bolts. coming in at such a high velocity, these can cause major hurt before you get your defences up. a high dex will add some points to your armour, saving some of that. bullets, outgoing. get more damage with a high DEX. and more damage is always good. specific class bonuses are in the manual. if you mean mage classes then its just what they cant cast that differentiates them. plus specialists get an extra spell each level. wild mages just suck, sorcerors are far to powerful.

"Hand over your money now, skinny boy!"
Kiki looked at the mugger and grinned maniacally. "Money? You want money? I make money!" The mugger stared at Kiki and wondered what kind of nut was he. He gripped his dagger and walked towards Kiki as Kiki waved his arms. Suddenly an explosion of colours appeared around Kiki and the mugger jumped back in shock. "Wha- what's going on?" "Cow! Cow!" "You nut! What the H- ARRGGGHHHH!" The last thing the mugger heard was the confused moo of a cow as the poor bovine dropped from the sky and landed flat on him. |

well, maybe not "suck" exactly, but when i cast a spell, i want that spell and nothing else. no wild surge, no haste the enemy, no randomness. lifes complicated enough already.
dundee - my brother got summon cow in BG1. he will not tell me where he got it from. where is it? is it available in BG2? do yo still get the wyvern movie when you cast it?

I have not played BG1 in full, but the cow is one of the 100 possibilities that can happen when a Wild Surge occurs. It lands on your target and deals decent damage.

Summon cow is a cheats-only spell, gettable with the item code SCRLXZ or something liek that (not sure exactly). It's not too overpowered, though, mainly just funny. Hmm... eh, sorcerers aren't that great, in my opinion... I mean, so few spells... besides, with Edwin, you can cast about the same number of spells anyway (or maybe more, not sure) and get a LOT more spells. Wild Mages are great... note Wild Surge, a lvl 1 spell that can be used to cast a lvl 9 spell? Even though it doesn't always work, hitting someone with with, say, and extra 4 Dragon's Breaths is pretty nice... oh, and as for the dex, since high dexterity increases (eh, decreases, actually, but blah) your AC, and you want to be hit as little as possible so spells aren't disrupted, high dex is good. Oh, and it gives the missile weapons hit roll bonus.

apparently the evil sod has a powerful amulet that gives him 2 more spells per level. and its edwin only, so dont think about stealing it. plus his stats are above average.
Encard - in BG1 at least, summon cow is not cheats only, cos my bro did find a scroll for it somewhere. since at the time he didnt even know what an ini file was, and i was keepng Gatekeeper from him to prevent massive cheating and accompanying bragging, im sure he found it somewhere. he says it has the same icon as the grease spell. anyway, all i remember is that he cast it for the first time somewhere in beregost. inside actualy, which dosent make sense gien the accompanying movie, but thats a minor point.
