I have 'SoA' installed and had been playing it fine. I'm somewhere in the middle of Chapter 2. I don't own 'ToB' so I pick up a package with 'SoA' and 'ToB' together. So I install only the 'ToB' disk because I already have 'SoA' installed. I attempt to continue with my save game from Chapter 2 of 'SoA'. I no longer have an icon for 'SoA', only for 'ToB'. So I run the 'ToB' icon and the game loads fine and I'm asked whether I want to play 'SoA' or 'ToB' so I choose 'SoA' and I'm aske d to put in Disk 2. I put in Disk 2 and nothing happens. So I'm thinking maybe I should put in the 'ToB' disk, still nothing. Finally, I try Disk 2 from the 'SoA' game that came with 'ToB' ( the one I didn't install), still nothing. Is this a common problem? What can I do? Do I have to reinstall?

I had to reinstall. I think it had to do with having the 'BG2Fixpack' installed. After I reinstalled I saw that there's a utility to remove the 'fixpack' before installing 'ToB'.

thanks

After you install TOB, you should install the TOB fixpack. This overwrites the file from the SOA fixpack that the TOB installer refuses to change.
