Parents do decide on what rights a kid has though to a great extent and for good reason. I would think tho that at 16 or at least 18 the chip would be removed since the child is not a child in the eyes of the law.

For crying out loud Calaethis its not COMMUNISM. Its TOTALITARIANISM. COMMUNISM and SOCIALISM have nothing to do with STATE OPPRESSION. The aim of the Bolsheviks in Russia was to bring COMMUNISM and REVOLUTION, but had to implement TOTALITARIANISM to survive. Please, just take a deep breath and realise that far stupider things have been done in the name of security. And think PRACTICALLY about this. How will your parents ever know if you've gone to a club or a bar when you're supposed to be at a friend's house or something like that? This chip allows parents to know the LOCATION of their child, such as in which vicinity, etc etc. Your parents probably are'nt going to tell from a computer screen exactly where you are, or what you are doing. Even if this technology used the equivalent of spy satellites, the sheer logistics of this task would make the technology impractical, if not impossible. Besides, I do believe that kids should always be honest with their parents instead of sneaking around all the time. I'm against chipping, but if you're afraid that this will become a reality for you and therefore curb your.. unsanctioned activities, then all I have to say is you'd rather be GROUNDED than DEAD.
