Bug? (Spoilers)

I'm in Balmora doing quests for the guilds. In the mage guilds, after Ajira asks you to find mushrooms, she asks you to put a fake soul gem on his rivals desk (i forgot the name). I put the fake soul gem on the desk beside his real soul gems. The problem is that when i return to Ajira she keeps asking did i put the gem on the desk? I can't take the gem back and put it again, because the guy is now just standing in front of it. Anyone else had this problem?

What happens if you try to move it anyway, right in front of her face? I think my brother might have done it that way...

nm the post, i was being stupid. All you had to do is put it IN the table, not ON it. Fortunately, i was still able to do it even if she was just standing in front.
