Hey I chose option one though I wont be married for a month yet. I plan on wearing my ring all the time- til the day I die and beyond. (No, my fiance is not reading over my shoulder either! )

SomeGuy, if your ring is like one of the ones in the link from Skywalker, I've seen people wearing them.

I don't wear any rings because there is too much of a chance to get them caught on something when I work.
I wore my wedding ring for several years until it got too small, then I wore a band given to my wife by her father, but it was too big and kept slipping off. I finally just gave up on wearing either ring. They were either too tight, too loose, or too risky.

I can see why some people don't wear them to work, since my dad got his caught while fixing a plane engine. Not a good thing to have your finger stuck in something like that!
I had to have my engagement ring resized a few times to get it right and I do take it off at night during the summer since it gets snug then. I take it off when I'm doing any involved cooking or gardening too, partly as it gets caught and partly to avoid losing it or mucking it up and having to clean it.

On the other hand ( no pun intended )...I used to wear a ring to work that saved me some pain and anguish. I moving some heavy boxes of lard (yup, used to work at a fish and chips store). As I was stacking the boxes, I slipped and dropped a couple of the boxes with my fingers underneath them. When it happend, I thought "This is gonna hurt". But it didn't hurt too bad. Anyways, later that night, I noticed that the ring I work was warped from circular to oval and I figured out that the ring had saved my fingers. KZ

Cloudy, the steel ring worn for the Order of the Engineer is to remind egnineers to check their designs. Peoples lives are often at stake in the products engineers build. The ring is worn on the pinky finger of the writing hand as a reminder when signing off on designs.
It was started after some people died on a bridge collapse that had easily fixed design flaws. The original rings were made from the collapsed girders. EDIT: No, it's not just a Canadian thing. [ 03-29-2004, 03:15 PM: Message edited by: Night Stalker ]
