I've got cable modem, and pay about $40 a month. I used to have 56k, and wouldn't go back to it - EVER!!!! It's very worth it.

Have DSL and love it, it is so fast and well worth the cost which I think is about $50 per month. And I rarely lose the connection unlike with my 56K.

I only have 56k.

I really would like DSL, but I could never afford it.

Life can be a bit of a bugger really.

Verizon DSL here...768K down, 128K up, $35/month...

and yes, I'd never go back to 56K if I can help it!

(writing tonight from Monroe, Louisiana, on a 56K modem...YUCK!!!! I'm still trying to get my mother onto DSL as well. )

I've finally ordered it, after the ISP I was using for my dial-up folded. I've gone for 512k/128k ADSL which I'm sure will be a noticeable improvement on my 56.6k. Say goodbye to 5 minutes of waiting for a page to load up.
