Where's the heritic key?

i was talking to Kol when i turned to check out the temple's front door then turned back around finish talking with him, he was gone. i can't find him at all now.
do i lose? i assume i can't get the heritic key now(

any help appreciated.

first of all, did you save before you talked to him?
once you finished talking to him... he's outta here after you went into the temple...

the key word for kol is...
