I have 2 Harddrives C: & D: & a CDROM E: - when full installed the game start-up requests a CD (any of 2, 3, 4) to be present. BUT the game is insisting on looking for the CD in drive D: and does not recognise the disc sitting in E: - any ideas?
The drive allocations are correct and no other games have this problem. Bioware have been helpful but can only suggest a full uninstall & re-install, which I'll try, but I wondered if anyone else has had a similar prob.

Firstly Welcome to IW Strom

Now, in my old setup I had hard-drives C: and D: and did a complete instal of BG2 from my CD Rom E:
I also had this problem but was allowed to select where the CD was after the first one had finished instaling files. I understand that you've probably tried everything you could think of but see (after you put the next disk in the CD Rom) if you can change the directory of the drive it is searching in. You should be able to do that by, or editing the box from D: to E: Although I haven't tried actually highlighting it and changing it from D: to E: give it a try if all else fails.
Best of luck with it!

You could try cracking the game wich would remove the cd check so you dont need the cd to run the game.

Thanks Bokken, Finally succeeded with a full uninstall/re-install as suggested by the guys at Bioware. Had to trace an old registry entry from a previous install when the CDROM was still D: drive and manually remove. Start-up now recognizes the correct drive.
Now got a prob with Gamespy not launching the game for on-line play! Guess I'll just have to finish the game solo and then sort THAT out. PC's - you gotta love 'em.
