Thanx Ziroc!
I've been waiting impatiently for your take on the game. This just makes it seem to be a little bit closer to a release date! Mark |

Very good, Ziroc! Great screenshots, and a great report on the game.
The only thing that bothers me is only having 8 active slots: this is definitely a downgrade from the original Wizardry series where it was common to have 10 active slots. That's going to hurt. I hope this doesn't mean having to do an exercise in Operations Management and Inventory Control...that's when it starts feeling like a job and less like a game. Also impressed with the Character portraits...finally, a game that creates fantasy-looking portraits without resorting to whimsy. You didn't say, but I take it that the challenges are fairly easy enough for a beginning party to not be overwhelmed? That has been a problem with some games and a frustration for beginners. One of my biggest kudos for WW was that beginners could start out and not be killed easily...also that massing huge HP totals wasn't really necessary for enjoying the game. Oh, BTW...your writeup is #1 at the http://www.wizardry8.com/ official page! Yeeha! For those interested as well, here are the current system requirements for Wizardry 8 (from their FAQ on their site): Quote:

Hi Ziroc,
Very nice job indeed! I'm curious though, everyone is mentioning the 7/15 release date, however I have not seen Sir Tech confirm this anywhere on their website. I'm still skeptical that this is true.. But a great review, let's hope they release a demo to the public! Scronan |
