**If you've made your way back through the solo warrior writings, you'll find this one is like no other. Taking Missy's adventures and putting them into story format was an idea that started with chapter two, and has continually progressed since then. One day, I may rewrite this chapter to match the others, but I need to finish the entire thing first.**

Okay, I finally got myself back to W&W, and after four tries, was able to reset my game for the arrival of a new adventurer... Missy Hissy, a ratling warrior who's prepared to take the Gael Serran by storm.

So far, we've relearned a couple of lessons.

First, gold is mighty important in the Gael Serran. It took Missy a long time to get enough gold for the Warrior Guild, and she needs still more to get her barbarian promotion, and still more to get a single magic arrow so she can start selling. And since the only things that drop gold fight back, this has been rather challenging.

Second, they... WILL... hunt... you... down... No kidding! Missy ran into a pack of Worgurs, who were tearing her to shreds. She ran back to the gates of Valeia, rested for a few... and there they were! She ran through Valeia and out the other side, rested... and there they were! She went back and forth four or five times until she decided to spend some of her hard-earned gold at the temple for healing. Was down to 6 GP when the last one died...

Third, as always, skill choices are critical. Missy Hissy went with (with her three skill points) Sword, Dagger, and Bow, figuring that she needed offensive firepower. Yeah, offensive firepower like a gnat. At least with her dagger, she can get lots of licks in, and she'll still be able to use it when she get to be a spellcaster... someday...

Fourth, there's some definite advantage of the universal offensive strategy known as RUN!!!!!! After Gorthius' pals turned on him, she scooped up his possessions and gold, and high-tailed it back to Valeia. The three Jade Thieves were too much to take on at once, but on the way back, they got separated... and she was able to shoot one with an arrow, lure him to her, dispose of him, and move on to the next.

She's now level 3, and will probably be level five before she can convert over to Barbarian. It will simply be a question of the amount of gold she can beg, borrow, or steal. Maybe tonight she'll get brave enough to go to the graveyard.

'Course, it's not like we don't know the graveyard. Missy Hissy has died three times already, only to be brought back to life by the Reverse Time spell.

More news as the situation warrants it...

On to Chapter 2

I said more as the situation warranted, so more it is.

I just realized that Gorthius gave me three lockpicks for H'Thark. The lonely scavenger only needs one, and they fetch a high resale value -- 750GP apiece. That's enough to buy one Willow Arrow +1, which was enough to put the money problem to bed. Now Missy Hissy is fully a barbarian, approaching level 5 (which is where she got to in Warrior before I realized this).

And a further update on They... WILL... hunt... you... down... Mon the Sculz came looking for Missy (and surprised her outside the gates of Valeia), and he went down. A little while later, Juba Thobers made his way all the way from the Nymph Lake to the gates of Valeia to meet the same fate. Seems like everyone hunts you down, but only a select few have the ability to make it painful in the process...

Next game, knowing that money doesn't have to be a problem, I'd start that warrior with average stats across the board (enough to get into all classes) and start the growth. As soon as she can pick up three more spirituality points, we're *singing* going to the chapel, and we're... *smack!* okay, that's out of my system.

Time for nighty-nights. Goodeve, all, and peace on the morrow.

It's really easy to forget how hard the game is in the start. Getting gold is always the biggest trial. It is hard to advance without it.
where did you find the willow arrow+1. I couldn't get a magic arrow until Ishad na?
I hope that missy can become very good with her ranged weapons. Getting those worgurs before they can reach you would be nice. Remember "do it to them before they do it to you"
Good luck Missy Hissy.

yea i agree to. *nods head* getting gold is like climbing mount everest to me. also, it's very irritating when teh enemies that appear do not drop gold (like worgurs) when u expected trolls to appear.
oh well, i wish u good luck in finding a lot of gold!!!

Actually, once I realized it, gold was there for the taking.

Missy Hissy joined the Warriors Guild, sold one of the lockpicks, and bought one special item from the "Warriors-only" section -- a willow arrow +1. 'Twas on the second or third page of things available to buy. Sold it, bought another, and repeated until I hit some 100,000 GP. Put half in the bank (like mom always said), and gold is no longer an issue. Bought herself some nice equipment (plate armor, plate gauntlets, chain leggings, crusader helm, warrior's stone) and now have an AC of 14 or so. She doesn't worry about shooting the Worgurs -- let 'em come. A couple of quick slashes from her dagger, and they're toast. And so far, most of the denizens of the crypt have been pretty simple too.

Methinks I may document this all as a walkthrough guide for playing a solo warrior. Time will have to tell.

Just checking in for the night. Got to write a speech for tomorrow and bury some skeletons.

That willowarrow+1 is another good reason to join the warriors guild asap. My wizard wouldn't have had enough strength to join until Ishad na anyway.
Here's a point. When you roll up a wizard charactor make sure that it has enough strength to become a warrior class so that you can join that guild when you want to.
