Alaerth sheathed a bloodied Isak and strode forward. He grabbed a snake by its neck with his powerful hand and pushed it up against the crystal,
"Tell us everything you know about this crystal, snake, and I will give a painless passing. If you do not, I give you to the drow."

"Never" hissed the snake and swallowed something. Then it fell to the floor. Dead. Now there was one left and it stared at its companion in horror. "Pleassse," it hissed, "Do not kill me... I will tell you what you wisssh to know..."
Alaerth drew his yuan-ti blood covered scimitar and leveled it at the snakes chest, "Then speak quickly. We don't have time to waste, and if I think you're wasting my time, you go to the drow."
Several of the drow warriors smiled viciously
The Yuan-ti hissed, "I do not know! I was following insssstruction to enchant it withs death magicsss... when sssomeone triesss to dessstroy it, it killsss them... I am only young..." it hissed, and looked frantic, "I only obey the masssterss..."
Alaerth pressed Isak against a chest scale of the yuan-ti, "So how do we disenchant it then? It would displease me if we tried to shatter it and ended up dying."
The Yuan-ti hissed, "I do not know!" the enchantment was not complete... maybe nothing, maybe it will explode!" it looked at Alae, its eyes pitiful and pleading, "Pleasssse let me live...? I am no threat to you..." it simpered.

Edit: changed the colours of the font to make them more readable. Black doesn't show up.

Alae stood next to Alaerth and crossed her arms, "I'll make you a deal, snake." Her eyes were still silver, but they were growing red flecks, "We'll stand in the back here, out of harm, and you can destroy, or try to destroy, the crystal. If you are successful, then you are free to go. If you fail, and it slays you, then we will find a way to disenchant it ourselves, since you do not seem to know how."

"All... right..." Whispered the Yuan-ti, fear in it's eyes. Walking over to the crystal, it laid its hands on it, and it pulsed white, then blue, then white again, expanding. "GET DOWN!" screamed the priestess, "Its a TRAP!" the Yuan-ti's eyes bludged and the crystal exploded, sprewing Yuan-ti guts over everyone, and a half demon stood in the room, its wings spread out wide, and its greatsword pulsing a wicked red. It smiled evilly, "Well well well... if it isn't the little duo... prepare to die, wyrmlings." it raised its sword and attacked, cutting a warrior in two.

Edit: Damn black.

Alaerth, enraged at being tricked, roared and charged the demon, Alae hot on his heals. The priestess was left by herself as the warriors rushed the monster.

Alaerth got slapped across the face/chest with a huge forepaw, leaving a bloody gash and the force sent him flying into a wall, the impact accompanied by a sickening crunch. He wasn't dead, just something broken. His eyes rolled up to their whites and he passed out.
"VITH DOS!" screamed the priestess, and cast a spell; protection from evil 30' and Alae inflicted Isak upon the demon, and the drow warriors their swords. Alae's sword cut deep into it's hide, the drow's normal weapons doing nothing. The Priestess cast another spell upon the demon, and it slew it...

Alae rushed over to Alaerth and knelt down next to him, biting her lip anxiously,
"Can you heal him...with greater restoration? I know it tires you but Matron Alliene or another priestess can surely help you when we return to them." It was either that or teleport out with Alaerth and leave the demon....which they could actually do. She fished around in Alaerth pockets and pulled out the small mirror they used for contacting Alliene.
"Aunty?" A moment later a scowling Alliene appeared,
"Yes Alae. Did you destroy the crystal?" Alae nodded and Alliene caught sight of Alaerth. She sighed out something about him being a foolish clod and told her Zachana would use her mirror momentarily to bring the party of warriors back, then flickered out. A minute later, a hole opened, Zachana waiting expentantly on the other side.

"Yes Lady Alae" the priestess replied, and cast the spell; followed up by a cure serious wounds. Alaerth staggered to his feet. "My Lady" continued the priestess, "The lord of this castle.. we should destroy him" her breathing came in rasps now, and she was exhausted from the effort of casting so many spells in such a short space of time. The Drow carrying the elven girl emerged, and looked at Alae, "What do you wish me to do, my lady? Command me as you will." he nodded his head, "Do you wish me to continue to guard the child?"

Alae helped steady Alaerth with her hands on his shoulders,
"Take Myri through the mirror and let someone there watch her. Your skills will be needed here." She turned her silver gaze to the priestess, "You should go to, since you are fatigued. Matron Alliene will send us another priestess I'm sure."

The priestess sighed deeply "Yes Lady Alae" then she paused and a look of distaste crossed her features "My Lady, do you wish me to... carry... the child... through the portal and watch her for you? Since I can do little else." Judging by her tone, she wasn't too happy with the idea. Still, it was logical..
