2.Religion started as a way to answer all our questions and fears of the unknown and fear of death.

3.There is know god or budda or any other "manifestation" of god.

4.There is only PROVEN facts of logic. There is no logic in faith or fantasy or excuses for our human instincts.
1.I think you mean TRANSLATED, not interpreted. THe Bible is often translated yes, because language changes. Would you prefer it that is remained only in the original Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic so that only scholars could read it? If it's in a contemporary language any literate person speaking that language can read it. Power to the people.

2. You would know this of course, because you were there when religion started, and you are not relying on faith that the historical information you have received from others is true. Oh hang on, you don't believe in faith....

3.I think you meant "There is no God or Buddha". Well I can assure you Siddartha was a historical figure. Buddhists today are divided over whether he passed on into Nirvana (doesn't exist anymore) or chose to stick around and guide others to Nirvana (exists in Spirit) or is actually reincarnated as the Dalai Lama. (Exists here and now)

As for whether God exists, As I said, all you can state is that you have not experienced him. I have no doubt you have not. I however have. He is very real to me.

4. To love one must have trust. One must have faith in the other person. Are you suggesting that love does not exist? Are you suggesting love is not logical?
1. Sorry my spelling bothers you.

2. No, I meant interpreted. It has been interpreted by every religion out there to there own personnel agenda or opinion. All the differences in the religions prove that. Whats a sin to one is not to another. Was that power to the people? What about power to the god? Do you think it was his intention to confuse the crap out of everybody. I know this becouse I have no fear of death. I am not afraid to come outside the box and question the norm. Where you there to put so much "faith" in something you can not prove?

3. I dont think you can assure me of anything. As you said, they are divided themselves, so how could you know? By what you read? More doctrine.

I think you have experienced something you cannot explain, so you say it was god, as humans have been doing for ever. Was it an overwhelming feeling of joy or comfort? These can be explained biologically. And until you prove THAT wrong, its all fantasy to ME

4.Yes, I do think there is no logic in love. Love is an emotion, thats all. Of course it exists, does anger exists, loneliness, happiness? Trusting my wife is completly different than trusting an invisable god going on nothing but doctrine.

I'm not trying to force my religon on anyone but i will state what i believe and what i don't believe.
First of all the basic debate here seems to be the humanization of God or godlike figures. people like to place limits and the problem w/ god(should you believe in him) is he has no limits, he is all powerful, omnipresent and omnipotent. you can't humanize him because he is not human. He is beyond your wildest dreams

2nd the last few posts have focused on the orgin of religon. While there are many thoeries what it basically boils down to is faith. can you believe in something without hard evidence. I can.

Good post Angelousss. By definition, imo, any God is a supreme transcendent, defying all labels and attempts at understanding by mere mortals.

Right, that’s it, I'm leaving. I know I started this thread but in the first 10 posts I realized that the same arguments were being presented by different people who think they are right. I suggest that anyone with half a brain leaves this thread now and never returns because if you are dumb enough to stick around and present arguments that there is no possible explanation for (without the knowledge that God has) then there is something seriously wrong with you! These arguments are pointless and will go in circles with people from both side posting their opinions that are often incredible angering to the people of the opposite sides. LEAVE NOW, FOR YOUR OWN GOOD!

Why... you think he could provide it for himself... should he be giving his @subjects@ money instead.

That is a good point, but since you come from a Hellhole, there is a chance of you being a demon who is trying to make us "Disbelievers"... jokz!
There is only one thing I know and that is that, God does exist.

But there was this one guy that told me that, aliens are our Gods and they have put us here in colonies. All those UFO sightings are the aliens checking up on us seeing how we are advancing in "Technology"...

From that day on I labeled him crazy...

How can you post something about religion and not expect something like this to occur?

Just wanted to add something

The pinnacle of my faith is belief, its blind like love. My faith tells me that what i belive is true and i try to find reasons in philosophy and science for that so that others can see it too

Sorry to add more gasoline to the forest fire, but
I think that people invented god(s) to explain things that they dont understand, now those beliefs have spread and became religions.
I,myself dont believe in god(s),and I think that I woudnt believe even if I got hard evidence from someone. Many think that the bible or other religious books are hard evidence, but is it only because the certain book says that this is true? Isnt that a sort of on going circle? "this is true, because it says here that this is true" I think though that everyone should have the right to believe in whatever they want.
I dont intend to hurt anyones feelings by writing this,so I am not going to continue this post any longer, eventhough I love philosophical discussions.
