It's my experience that, no matter how lively a board is, or was, eventually it will start to fade away. Hell, even Fok.nl, with it's quarter of a million members turned relatively quiet compared to how it was a year or two ago, and that forum has multiple subforums with something for everyone's interrest. I've been a member here since 2002,
which means that at least IW outlived most other boards i ever frequented, and that's quite a number of em.

I remember why he left. Had something to do with a moderator decision he did not agree with which got him banned for a bit.

I'll throw in my 2 dollars (adjusted to current inflation)

~ There's no new earth shattering games that warrants a board that might bring in influx of new members. When was the last time ziroc made a board for a new game? Honestly I don't remember anymore. Oblivion was disappointing and so was nwn2 and both didn't bring in lots of new people.

~ When people do come in and ask about a particular game. Usually people in this board tell them to go searching for another website or ask the official forum. I remembered when someone asked question about MM9 and he was told to go to the 3do board. Seriously aren't we ironworkers good enough to answer those sort of question?

~ People register, post something and gone forever. For one example, I point to you to the one post in CE something about american election. Where's that poster now?

~ When someone posts a lot. He's called a spammer and people want him to stop. But when nobody is posting anything people began to post asking why nobody is posting anything. Sounds familiar?

Ok, that's all on my mind atm.
