~She looks through the door at Larry, Mistral, and their animal companions, smiling as the pup squirms at Mistral's hold.~ "Be nice Chaos!" ~She turns back out the door and winces, calling up to Deiter.~ "I have a terrible feeling that blasted ladder's going to break!" ~She jumps as the ladder creaks, calling up to him.~ "Be careful!"

"I got the hole, you can continue to work on the walls if you want." Grabbing some boards a hammer and bag of nails he quickly climbs up the ladder again. He looks over the edge at Chani "I will" Deiter puts the boards down and takes one placing it over the hole. Takeing some nails out he starts to hammer the board in place.

She returns to her former task of nailing the planks on the walls. This time, she hammers firmly in a relaxed mood, occasionally smiling secretly to herself and blushing.

~She grumbles something under her breath about keeping feet on the ground as she climbs up the ladder. She whisltes.~ "These shingles have gone to hell." ~She lugs a box of new shingles to the roof and carefully balances her weight, climbing atop.~ "OK... Just finish up that hole then get your arse back on the ground." ~She chuckles nervously.~ "I don't want the whole roof caving in." ~She starts placing new shingles at the opposite end of the roof.~

Whe we were ambushed, I was indeed hit very badly, and was heavily wounded. I thought I was going to die as well, but fortunately I was able to evade death by just a hair. As I layed on the streets, bleeding myself nearly dry, a dimension door opened above me and two ebony hands reached out and grabbed me. I was taken back to the headquarters of some militant group, which is where I've been spending the last ten years; as a slave to unknown captors.
But recetly, your name has become common in that area. There have been three strikes sent out against you in the past two weeks, and the leader seems to have some kind of grudge with you. He sent me with this team to act as bait, in hopes that you might finally be killed here. She leaned in close to Sephi. But I'm not going to let them. Sephi grinned at the suggestion.
Enough of this! Hurry up and kill them both at last so that we can finally get out of here and get our pay! As the crossbows fired, Sephi unclasped his cloak and began to spin it around in front of himself and Jaclyn, creating a barrier with th folds.

He smiled over at her"I doubt it would do that." Getting the hole fixed up he goes over to where shes working at and takes some shingles. Seeing her look he grins"Might as well get as much done while were up here." Going to the other side he starts to tear up the old ones.

The bolts were stopped by the cloak, or at least slowed down and knocked off target. Sephi took this as an advantage and finished drawing his sword. He practically flew over to the crossbowman on his left, running him onto his sword. Sephi pulled his bloodied sword out of the man's abdomen and turned in time to see Jaclyn finish a lightning bolt spell that collided with the other man, knocking him against the wall and sending his body into convulsions.
The mage finished casting Melf's Acid Arrow and shot it off at Sephi. It struck him in the shoulder, forcing him to wince in pain as he put his cloak back on. Whipping out his hand crossbow, he took aim for the mage on the far side. He missed, but the distractio caused the mage's casting to be interrupted. Jaclyn finished this off though, and sent a roaring fireball at the mage, taking out him and the fallen crossbowman.
Now Sephi and the three melee men stood toe-to-toe, ready for the fight to begin.

~She looks over at him, Deiter being all dusty and bruised.~ "No, you've done enough already." ~She gives a demanding look, ignoring any protest.~ "Go on then. This'll only take me a minute." ~The roof gives a terrible creak and she grimaces.~ "That too." ~She reaches for more shingles.~

I just thought of something very funny I could do if you did get off the roof Deiter...

Dosen't involve pop-tarts, but it's funny!)
