I remember Armisael and I always used to be online at the same time, he was from Melbourne and I was from Sydney. Then Rikard couldn't work out why we overtook him, being a slow poster as he is. He accused us of going on the W&W forum!! Back then there was definite segregation between all the forums, we didn't have a GenCon then or if we did no-one used it.

Our General disc. forum was the BGI Forum.

Oooowwww all your posts bring back such lovely memories
LadyZ, A Challenge My Friend...wow that was one of the best
I really miss the Wah wars

I lurked on the old blue Forum since August last year and I joined in September, and I have loved it from the beginning!! The first thing that struck me was how incredibly mature and friendly it was...not mature in the sense of 'not having petty-but-oh-so-funny roleplaying wars' but just mature in the posters attitude towards others, especially newbies. I felt welcomed from the beginning, and sometimes I really miss the atmosphere we had back then.

Well, the board was indeed thriving when I arrived before... I used to do that... but maybe a little more trimmed and less harsh... but never meant for insult...

Well, if you guys remembered bagger.. he was a pain...

And there are more younger kids now...

Thank you once again Kind Gentleman Spokesman Sir! You have once again expressed my views very well.

Reading through this thread made me wonder if I'm really as oblivious as I was feeling... I started lurking at the old board the end of October 2000, and I don't recall anyone being particularly unkind. The blue board struck me as one of the most amazing places on the web. It was the best (Ironworks still is) bulletin board of any kind I had seen in all my years on the web.

If there had been a lot of flaming or trolling or whatever else you call it going on, I would never have joined, and certainly never would have stayed! There are bound to be misunderstandings and disagreements with this many people from so many different cultures here. The disagreements/misunderstandings do not rule, however. It is truly a world-wide community, and I have met & befriended some of the most amazing people here.

Thank Ziroc for Ironworks!

I'm amazed at the level of maturity that so many people have attained since I joined here 9 months ago, especially from the younger guys. Bahamut and Rikard are excellent examples that come to mind (I'm sure there are many more). I'd say Ertai but he's always been mature!!

Cloddy, on the other hand...
