Larry watched his master dissappear. He was stunned and had no ability to move from his kneeling position. He had been told that the OHF was in ruin, with the passing of all the old ones. Larry realized then that he was the last one.

The last Ancient.

Jerome was probably near to the house by now, ready to bathe the world in blood. Yet, Larry just stared at the empty air that Rikard had vanished into.
He finally stood up and walked out the door. Calling back in a choked-up voice he said to the others..."Let's go....and bring the rabbit."

When he is sure noone is watching, he wipes a tear from the corner of his eye. He swallows once and straightens his back. Then he follows Larry out of the house, weapon at the ready.

The weather was odd today, almost as if it can't decide between dark stormy clouds, thick patches of mist and rains of blood.
Rains of blood?

Looking up, he saw a commoner, or what was left of it, sticking to the wall of the house.

"Stay alert everyone. I have a feeling it's not entirely safe out here..."

Drawing his blades, Larry carefully continued his treck.

"Legolas...do we have a mage or somethig that can help us? I wold much like to have a magic-dead area....but is that was not the case...maybe a war-mage or a healer at least would be a dang good thing. remember that we are mortal. This thing no longer is a living creature...unlike his lackeys."

"I pulled a rabbit out of my pack, does that count?

There may be some mages trotting along who have yet to identify themselves in a first post, but other than that, none.

Say, this Jerome thing, does it even have a corporal form?"

"THE ANCIENT ONE AND THE RANGER APPROACH. SEPERATE THEM, KILL THE OTHER ONE IF YOU MUST, BUT DO *NOT* KILL LARRY. I WILL DRIVE HIM NORTH, INTO MY GARDEN.

SHOULD THE RANGER FLEE AND FIND REINFORCEMENTS, THINGS WILL NOT GO SMOOTHLY. MAKE SURE HE DOES NOT ESCAPE AND SUMMON THE RESDT OF HIS GOOD-WILLED BRETHEREN.

SO SAYETH JEROME THE FALLEN"

And with that, from the shadows, the small group threw themselves upon the two travellers.

But not before Neb had put on a really cool battle theme to accompany the fighting.

"Legolas is mine!" Cried Neb as they headed for the Elf, "DIE RANGER-BOY!"

Seeing his ally under attack Neb stopped heading towards Legolas and instead decided to aid Seph. He'd let his fellow Smiter of Goodness have the honour of the kill, but he'd help his ally win with a few enchantments.

The Sorcerer activated a Minor Spell Trigger that cast Blink and Haste on Seph then stood back to watch the fight, ready to interfere in the unlikely case that the attacker should seem to be winning.

Sephiroth steps to the side and the sword passes harmlessly beside him. Unprepared for the cowardly assault Sephiroth had left his Masamune in his sheathe, but he quickly slid it out now that he saw a threat. Neb's haste spell affected him first, quickening his movement rate, and his blink spell came shortly after. With his new speed Sephiroth charged the newcomer, who was yet to identify himself or a motive to attack, with a stab from his Masamune.
