Sir Morguerat swung his blades down on the hand holding Magnus, and threw him free of the dragon, yelling I have the stone, get us out of here as Balagos breathed again, Sir Morguerat reached out to his sword with his mind and attempted to use the added power to reach modding mage, for any assistance he could receive. then fell to the ground under the onslaught of the dragon's mighty breathweapon, hopefully it was enough gasps the fallen knight.

Suddenly a hole in the very fabric of space appears not 3 feet from where Morgeraut was. This hole was only visible from the angle morgeraut was facing it. On the other side of the wormhole could be seen a wonderous chamber of luxury. Regal furnishing decorated a lavish room that could only be home to some exhorbitantly rich king. this could only be a sign from the modding mage, an opening for his general to come home through. Just as the paladin saw the opening a clawful of gold bars came flying from the sky hitting him in the chest and knocking him over knocking him over. The dragon then focuses on fenric as the hand picked up Magnus again and sqeezed him harder still, causing blood to run from his mouth and a dazed look come over his eyes.
OOC: will somebody kill that hand before it kills Magnus, and your only way out. Once he is free use the time amulet, and then grab as much gold as you can and have magnus teleport you out of there. and morgeraut get to the lord of the forums thread. Are you with cyril or with larry, or is that something we will have to wait and see?

Rufus dashed to Magnus and waved his wand. Sparkles glittered in the air and the hand that grasped Magnus dissolved into smoke.

"Thanks, Rufus... I owe you one..." groaned Magnus, still shuddering.

Seeing that Magnus was probably too badly injured to use the Amulet of Time again, Khadgar snatched the Amulet from Magnus and swept his hand over it in a circle:

"Lords of Time, again I ask,
make the dragon slow and make us fast!"

Again Balagos' actions slowed down to a mere creep and the loud tick-tock sound could be heard. StoneRock promptly seized the opportunity and held up his holy cross of Clangeddin high in the air and whispered a prayer; a brilliant flash of light came from the cross and the entire party's wounds were completely healed.

"Now, friends!" cried Khadgar, preparing to cast a gate spell. "Let's prepare to leave!"

"Fenric...angry! Kill dragon! Kill!"

"No, Fenric!" cried Sir Jorlon.

It was too late. Fenric sprang towards Balagos' face again. His claws tore through the air -- and struck Balagos' left eye...

At that moment time slowly returned to normal again and Fenric somersaulted to the ground -- and the dragon covered his left eye with his claws and bellowed so loudly with pain the whole party had to cup their ears.

"You've... Gone too far... mortals!" roared Balagos in pain, still hurting too badly from the attack to do anything but nurse his eye. This bought extra time for the party, and Khadgar and Magnus quickly pooled their powers and wove a gate spell.

"Quickly, let's leave!" yelled Khadgar and Magnus. Then the party rushed through the gate and vanished...

(ooc: Balagos is not permanently blinded but just a bit stung in one eye, just as sometimes sand gets in our eyes. [img]tongue.gif[/img] We may not want to indulge in any ubering, but at the same time neither do we want our characters to be too ineffective against the big bad guy, do we?

Seeing the rest of the party run through the gate the mages conjured Sir Morguerat leapt through the portal to the mod mages tower.

OOC: enjoy the treasure you got guys

Az, the side I join will be apparent shortly in the battle, enjoy finding out.
