OOC>> You should read Carpe Jugulum, its great one of the best Granny Weatherwax ones apart from maybe Lords and Ladies in my opinion, Carpe is about the King of Lancre inviting vamps into the country *groan* everyone knows the rule about Vampires can't go places where they arent invited so if a King invites them into his country...

IC>> "The servants house? Ok that would be erm... this way or that way. How about: Lets just run!" Lucre shouted from quite a distance away as he had already started running, leaving Regin to catch up, as he most probably would.

"If they reached the servants house Regin could use it as a ... argh what was the word, oh yes fortress!" He thought.

Lucre's brain hurted.

OOC>> 250 could you PM me some tips in more detail cos i dont think im very good at this and i think im writing it more like Baldurs Gate dialogue.

To Lucre and Regin

The halfling break into a run towards the servant's house, his short legs carried him away from the combat as fast they could manage to pump. He heard shoutings of chase and fight behind him, but took no time to turn back.

He reached the wooden house (grrrr, anyone can give me a substitute word for 'wooden house'? my poor vocabulary sickens me sometime) and pushed the door through

Now you are in a 15 X 15 ft room, there is no windows on the ceiling or walls. the room is pitch black, you can make out several furnitures as the dim light from the door made through. There is no torch around.

You heard a faint noise from the corner to your right, but it might be just a trick played by your mind.

OOC: Regin, feel free to follow in, and take care the pursuit in your own way Hercules is with you

OOC>> Its the servants house right? If not then tell me to edit this post.

IC>> Lucre fumbled throught the darkness looking for candles or even a match. Of course! Lucre had a pipe and match in his pocket, of course! He always took this everywhere with him. As he was getting the matches out he dropped his pipe onto the floor, he lit a match and knelt down looking for his pipe, it was by the corner to his right, he crawled over to it and picked it up,put it into his pocket and stood up slowly.

As the halfling lighted his match, something to the far right escaped into deeper shadow. Lucre noticed the sound and movement...

[OOC]
Goodness gracious me, what is this guy? The Incredible Hulk?

PS: Aren't spiders immune to poison? Or is this something different?
[/OOC]

The pain... the pain was numbing. Cartwheeling away in retreat, Odin Magnus rolled behind Sir Byronas and winced as best as a Giant Spider can wince.

The wound was not deep, but it would seem that the dagger's blade was poisoned. Odin thought to himself,

"Tis but a flesh wound, I can survive this, I've been through worse... ohhhh... ..."

Odin closed all of his eight eyes and tried to calmly and quickly meditate the pain away. He hoped Sir Byronas had recovered enough to fight for a few more moments, then he could assist him properly.

OOC: Magical pain

The masked man attacked Byronas with his scimitar. Just before he strikes, he muttered something and a blinding purple light flashed from the scimitar...

It is a blind spell he casted on Byronas

As Odin sat behind Byronas meditating, more pains assaulted his mental defense. He tried forcefully pushing away the pain ...

OOC>>Sorry 'bout the screw-up with the indoors and outdoors thingy, 250

IC>>Regin looked back at the pursuers..
He wouldn't have been able to kill them back at the house, but now, standing in front of the servants house, he had Hercules to help him..
*Are you any good at fighting?* he asked the dog, half joking..
He had no doubt about the animals fighting capabilities..
He had seen the dog's jaws..
*Are you ready Herc, when I say go, you go for the one on the left..ready? GO!*
The dog attacked the man with the crossbow, and struck him to the ground..
One of the men attacked it with his sword, but missed..
The other two concentrated on the annoying little dwarf in front of them..
Regin was growling..a deep sound emerging slowly from his throat..
The men hesitated, but lunged at him..
Regin managed to fend off one mans sword, but the other cut him in the stomach..
It wasn't deep, but it hurt like hell..
Bending over a bit, Regin drew a dagger from his armour, warded off the blow from one man, and stuck the dagger in his guts, turning him towards the other man, so he wasn't able to cut him..
Then he drew his dagger upwards, in the man, and let go..
The man fell to the ground, and the other nearly attacked him, if Hercules hadn't bit him in the throat..
The man fell to ground, with a gurgling sound..
Regin got up..thanked the dog, and turned to see the man that had attacked the hound, lying screaming, three feet away from his legs..
*Good work dog!* Regin said, as he cut off the xcreaming man's head..
*Where did Lucre go?*

To Regin

Hercules barked understandingly, signal the dwarf to follow. He break into a run towards the servant's house, which now stood with an open door.

Hercules wondered why his master hadn't called him yet. He knew Byronas was trapped inside, but obediance and loyalty forbades him to abandan the dwarf and the halfling...

Once Regin got into the house, he will see a small figure about his height standing back to him. It is only Lucre upon close examination. He thought he felt/heard something in the room, that was why he froze in place while the dwarf charged into the house

"There is something over there, in the corner!" Lucre hissed to the dwarf. With the help of a dwarf at his side he decided to advance towards the dark shadowy corner. He crept so he could turn and run at any time(OOC: ). He took a deep breath and moved slowly, eventualy reaching the shadowy corner.

Lucre took a deep breathe and took one last step into the corner, the light of the match revealed a curled up man, doused with blood, it was a pitiful sight. Lucre approached him and caught a glimpse of his face, it was the guard Galen! He must have escaped to this hut while they were all fighting. He had a bolt in his arm. Lucre turned to Regin and asked " What should we do with him, help him, or put him out of his misery, he must have left his guards to draw the fire and get out here. I let you decid my dwarven friend."

Edit: Aww ok, it was worth a try.
