I just got the game last week, and am addicted to it.. But one thing annoys me greatly.. The damned green lighting in the dungeons! I remember reading about it when the game first came out.. Is there any fix for this? I have a GeForce2 MX, and tried Detonator v6.5 and v12.60.. tried various settings in the D3D options too!
Other problems I have are, random throwing back to the desktop when clicking on a character in the Inn after creating some characters, and the same thing randomly when clicking on things in town, like the exit or Armory especially. The only big feature gripe I have is-- does everybody else have the same problem I am having with getting 1HP and 1 ability point almost 98% of the time? I try the save/reload thing, and no matter what class, I get 1/1 15-20 times for any over that.. I usually have to settle with getting 1HP and 2AP becuase I heard the game eventually equalizes the HP... Does this mean that at like level 30 my characters will suddenly get like 30HP for a level? Or am I just having extremely bad luck? |

I suspect I am about to do a risky thing ....
I'm going to upgrade my poor old Voodoo2. Put the deposit down yesterday, on a GeForce2 MX Prophet. ( and then found this thread and read the posts about the problems with the MX ... ) I would like to get things right for my MX first time, and avoid as much "grobbling" as possible. System: PII400, 128Meg, Windows98SE, SB64AWE Gold, DirectX7 Questions: Will WW recognize the new card straight off, or am I going to have to re-install and start again? ( Up to now I have had no problems at all with either the installation or running the game. ) Have the issues with the MX been sorted out yet, or is it MX/brand of MX/MX drivers specific, and you either get lucky, or have to fiddle around with settings and drivers? KC_2, green dungeons sound rather yukky .. Can anyone advise me what MX drivers are best suited for DirectX7? I do not want DirectX8 ( I have no experience with Geforce stuff at all, I don't even get my MX until next week ) If all else fails, will running the game in software mode with the MX run problem free? I don't mind software mode, its what I've playing with for the last 2 months anyway!! P.S Got this message in the right thread now. Sorry, everyone. Pangur Ban |

Well, I think the green tint is a bug in the game-- it doesnt happen on any other game I have played. They must have only tested on mainly Voodoo cards or soemthing that happens to have a slightly different palette setup.

@ Pangur Ban
Installing a new video card If you install a new video card into your system after you have installed the game, you may need to uninstall and reinstall the game in order to get it to properly recognize the new hardware. Be sure to uninstall using the uninstaller, other methods of deleting the game are not recommended. This message comes from the help file "Video Card Problems". DirectX7 / DirectX8 <-> VGA-Driver If you don't want to use DirectX8 try to use the nVidia driver under number ...1241, because the 1241-version is DirectX8 optimized. Fallagar |
