Uh... and exactly how drunk were they when they told you that?
Not very likely... figurehead indeed, most Brits wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry at that.
The Dutch have a Queen too, but your idea doesn't hold for us either.

Just a thought...

No one mentioned how tough Emergency Room nurses are or other women in positions of authority (like running a prison) - these women are physically strong and tough.

It is true that I would have to be pushed to bring out ferocity, but then again, I am a pacifist.

The draft wouldn't take into account any particulars, just whether you are the right age.

I worked with the Navy on the flight deck fueling aircraft. I was there during Desert Storm. My muscles grew with the job and I could pick up anyone in a fireman's carry - the job made me strong. Humping a 12 pound nozzle and 100 feet of hose will do that. I have driven trucks most of my adult life and dealt with lots of abuse from men. I didn't cry, but I did get frustrated.

There are always exceptions to every rule.

And how often have YOU tried this in a bar in England, MagiK?
Maybe it's just me, but it would seem very logical for you, as an American, to take a Brit's word for a British issue...

What an absolute pile of horseshit.

And no, I would not lose my teeth in a bar for doing that, Mr I-know-the-entire-Brit-population.

Jeez!

LMAO! So a BRIT should come to AMERICA to be shown how BRITS regard their queen?? Sorry but that's laugable.
Most immigrants from European countries that live in the USA usually seem a lot more vehement about such issues than the Europeans - much more concerned with national identity and such. Must be the American way thing...

PS Oh and I hate to say it again... but you're nesting quotes again.

Back on topic...if women want to succeed in the USA they have to learn to play the game by the established rules, not expect the game to be rigged to allow them an easy pass. There is no easy pass for the men, you have to earn yourposition (yeah yeah I know there is nepotism and suchlike but in general here)

Thats NOT what I said and if you dont want to violate the TOS and derail the discussion by deliberately misquoting and not keeping things on topic..thats your perogative.
