One way to bridge that gap of indifference is to show her the same respect that I asked her to show us! My point here does regard humanity...hers as well as ours.

She (Fjotsdale) referenced the word herself and I would like to believe that she has a great amount of understanding regarding the matter. I would gather that from the statement she made in the message before her explanation. She did say that some people may be offended by the term. Give Fjotsdale a chance. Give Liliara a chance to make an opinion too. I still think that she was using the term because it was one offered and not an attack at anyone in general. I stand proud myself. Even if someone else tells me that they think I'm stupid for doing so. I have belief in our country even if others do not.

Well if it hurts her deeply or spurns her on to keep taking cheap shots at America, no one has a right to get pissed off at her do they?

Why ask for understanding if you aren't going to offer any?

I only bother to make a point of it because I care...not just about Americans but about Fljotsdale and the rest of the world too.

I wasn't upset with her statements until you started making an attack at her. I have always respected Fjotsdale even when I disagreed with her. She has a right to her beliefs, just like anyone else does. I don't believe that a show of our patriotism is a shot at her. Remember, we are talking about two different words here. Whether you like her (Fjotsdale) term or not, it is how she views us. Remember also that she did have to endure everything first hand. Not through others. That can amount for a great deal too. My step-father had to endure Vietnam first hand. It was almost more than he could bare. You gain a totally different viewpoint like that. Please don't infer an attack unless you are sure one is given.

I think the point here is Flots might be somewhat phycologicaly scared by what happened to her (who wouldn't be from living in Britian during WW2) and at first Moni was offended by the term Flots used and then tried to show Ms. F her (Moni's)point of view to help her understand and maybe address any issues.

I also served in the military but I would never say that just because I did that you and I see things the same way. It gets even harder when two people are from different countries.
