The game itself is indeed very scary. I watched along with my flatmate, and we (literally!) jumped every single time he put on new armor. Too creepy!
I must say that the ending was so incredibly easy and stupid, especially the movie. I had expected something more ![]()

Im not going to enjoy Doom3. You have to choose between your gun and a torch.

They have a fairly legitamate excuse too, "Under the crazy presumption that a roll of duct tape has to exist somewhere on the Mars facility" ![]() So there you go, I never used it, but I wanted it to be more difficult and scary. |

There's a mod that gives the chaingun a much higher capacity and Rate of Fire, I'd like to use that...Chainguns are practically the gap between machineguns and rayguns.
Even though the rotary cannon (appropriately, Minigun) isn't a chaingun.

I seem to be having a display issue with D3 on my Radeon 9800 video card. I am using DX9.0b and the latest stable Catalyst drivers.
I am calling the issue a "pixel storm". I.e., there is some random pixel noise, blinking (mostly white but occasionally red) pixels appearing and disappearing all the time, no matter whether my character is moving or standing still. The problem is especially apparent against dark background. No, it does not crash the game or anything, but it is VERY annoying. And since it only affects Doom3, not any other 3D application, I don't think that my video card is b0rken. Has anyone else experienced this? More importantly, does anyone know a fix for this? Would installing the experimental new Catalyst beta drivers correct this? I have downloaded them already but I am reluctant to go ahead and install them, since I fear that they might break something else. They are "beta", after all. |

Well I have a Radeon 9800 SE, but if you check my above link Seclists, you can find help for us "Superior" graphics card owners.
Dont worry, we will have our revenge when NVidia owners try and play Half-Life 2 ![]() |

seclist, your card is unstable, either due to overclocking or overheating. this is a known problem with overclocked cards in Doom 3, but it can happen on non-overclocked cards as well, if they're not perfectly stable at their stock speed. that these artefacts only appear in Doom 3 is simply because it stresses your graphics card harder than any other game.
i would recommend downclocking your card slightly to see if that solves the problem. you can use Rage3D tweak to downclock your card, available here. alternativly you could try improving the cooling inside your case if that is an option for you. |
