[/QUOTE]Well I may have had a few facts wrong, but the Emperor needed regular bacta treatment because of the abuse of the dark side...he definitely was about 20 or so years younger than he appeared, at least.

And the reason Amidala didn't age was because in Episode 1 she's supposed to be 14 years old, with Anakin at about 11. I think Amidala is 14 in the book as well...

Since when have royalty been elected? I believe she should be a princess or something, but something must have happened to her parents, forcing a pre-mature rising to queen-dom...or something similar

In the movie, I think she mentioned something about being elected as the queen and she will not let her people down.

Also in Attack of the Clones, they mentioned about trying to amend the constitution so that she could continue her role as the queen.

It seems pretty obvious she was queen by election and not birthright.
