On his walk, Argon noticed that the security of the docking bays was fairly standard, and didn't seem to be too different from the security procedures of every other podunk spaceport he's ever been in. Each of the bays was separated by a blast door with a keypad next to it, and a security guard standing next to a body scanner large enough to let two wookies walk through standing abreast. Some of the keypads had green lights and nothing on their small screens, but a majority of the lights were red and the screens were showing a line of text which he couldn't read from this far away. As he was going back to the ship two people walked in the front door and took their places behind the counter, apparently getting ready for the start of another day.

His efforts to set up a dummy system went exactly as he planned. It wasn't as sophisticated as Sorkuk's, but for it would probably be able to keep the casual hacker or entry-level security operative occupied for a couple of hours. When he tried to set his feet on Barney though, the Trandoshan shoved his legs off and decided to lay on the couch for the rest of his traumatized session.

His final effort for the night, though he was beginning to fall asleep towards the end, was successful, and he was able to see all of the information of the ships that were currently docked. However it was too much for his current datapad to hold, and he could only get the information for docking bays one through twenty five. Funnily enough, he got his own ship's information from this. Unfortunately, the next day his hole had been patched up, but there was no indication that they knew the source.

Sorkuk's nap was uneventful, and he woke up fully refreshed and ready for a full day of cyberterrorism. His query on the HoloNet brought up a list of imports and exports from the planetary government's main database. The most common imports were finished goods, rare metals, and fabrics suitable for clothing. Common exports included processed caf, durable varieties of lumber, and supplies for manufacturing medicinal compounds. A little extra searching yielded information about the buyers and sellers. A majority of the commercial business done on this world was covered by two firms with fairly similar business models - Rasbon Consumables, and the Rasbon Industrial Works firms.

Argon's first action upon awakening from a set of feverish dreams about blue wookies was to reach for his datapad and start it up. First he examined his dummy system from the day before to see if anyone had traced his work back to it, then scrapped it and spent a bit setting up a new one, quite similar, but different enough that they wouldn't immediately seem to be from the same source.

After a quick break for a shower and a spartan breakfast, he then went over the data he had plundered from the starport the night before. Specifically, he checked to see if he could find any ships that had destinations or points of origin elsewhere on Rasbon IV, ignoring any that had come in from space or were headed there unless they seemed excessively suspicious.

If nothing seemed to fit his criteria, he would look into the starport's systems again, starting by examining the security and checking to see if they had changed anything since last night. He would be extra cautious this time, it might just have been an automated routine that caught his security hole, but even so, someone in charge had probably been alerted. He intended to skim the information on the last 25 bays for the same things that he had checked the first 25, but the moment there seemed to be any interference, he would cut and bail, turning off his datapad and hiding in one of the airlocks.

Once all that was done, he'd check on Barney to see if he had recovered, then ask the Trandoshan and the Bothan what their plans were for the day.

"First, I'm gonna take a piss." Barney declared as he got up and walked to the refresher. Upon opening the door, the tentacled beast within roars and makes it's presence known, prompting Barney to wince and quickly slam the door shut. "Never mind...I just did. First, I'm gonna change my pants. Then I'll take a tour of this hamlet to see where the jail is and scout out some prime real estate to blow up. After that, I dunno...Probably go get drunk and pick a fight with those queers in orange."

Sorkuk focused his search on the two Rasbon companies, hoping to turn up information on their development plans for this planet. He figured there must be a connection between them and the rebel activities, so perhaps he could find goods or money being funneled to unexplained sources, such as exorbitant prices for common goods, a sure sign of money laundering.

When Argon arrived to ask for his plans, he responded, "This Rasbon corporation, there must be a link between them and the rebels, and I'm going to find it. They're the primary movers and shakers here. Hopefully they will lead us to some secret activity."

Argon listened to his two companions and assumed an expression that Sorkuk had already come to know, despite not being around the human for that long, as the precursor of a very badly thought-through idea.

"Say, Barney," began the technician, "Think you could gag and tie up one of those orange clowns without anyone noticing? If our other plans go south, we could always use a hostage, threaten to, I don't know, stick his head in the reactor unless they release our contact?"

Argon's search of the first 25 bays didn't net anything that fit his search criteria. All of the ships were from off-world. His second search went well, though he still didn't find any information that fit his criteria. The last ten, however, required a set of passwords that would tie him up for at least ten minutes. It was very possible that this was a ploy to trace, so he would have to decide whether or not to continue.

Sorkuk's searching dug up several commercial ventures that were started by each company, many of which included the stores on the main avenue, and a few construction projects as well. He couldn't find anything that had to do with paying exorbant sums of money for materials, at least nothing that wouldn't have cost a huge amount anyways.

However he did notice something strange. While investing the Industrial Works company, he found that they were paying for a building a fair distance away from the city. Official news stories said that it was going to be a new prison, but a casual look at a map placed it in the middle of the jungle. There were no plans for roads going to that location.

"Hey, Sorkuk," yelled Argon, "I've been checking out the data on the ships parked here at the starport, and while there's nothing unusual about most, the ten last are passworded. I'm pretty sure I can get in, and I'm curious what's important enough to hide, but I think there's also a decent chance they might catch me, think you could whip up some sort of software diversion while I breach their security?"

Whether Sorkuk agreed or not, Argon was going to give it a try. If Sorkuk provided some sort of cover, he'd take his time and make sure to do it right, but otherwise he'd just barrel ahead at top speed, trying to get it done before he got caught, downloading everything he got through to so it wouldn't be lost if he got caught.

"In order for hostages to work, people hafta give a damn if they die. No one'll miss those orange fwams. I'll be on the look out for more valuable marks though, if you're still keen on that plan."

"I ain't doing much good sitting around here, so I'm gonna head out now." And with that, Barney exits the ship, leaving his case of weapons behind this time. While Sorkuk & Argon work on their computers, Barney takes a tour of the town, taking time to study any landmarks and listen to gossip along the way. He'll then head to the nearest bar and order a stiff drink.

"I found something!" Sorkuk loaded the information about the strange building onto his datapad and rushed to show it to Argon.

"It looks like this building could be what we're looking for. Whatever it is, it deserves investigation."

The Bothan returned to his station after Argon had a chance to review the info.

"I'll be ready with your diversion in just a minute, with some luck we'll find a connection between one of those ships and that building."

Argon, Sorkuk
Sorkuk's diversion was completed in less than a minute, and consisted of an old trick that hadn't been seen since the very early days of the Old Republic. Basically, when he sent his diversion to the security stations a box popped up, and when the officer on duty tried to close the box, two more popped up, from each one, forever. It disabled the power buttons, and ultimately gave the two all the time they could ever need for this.

With the extra time, Argon was able to view all of the information about the ten password-protected ships. All of them were vessels owned by individuals, where the other ones were owned by corporations or interest groups. None of the names rang any bells or showed up in any recent news stories.

Barney
While out and about in the town, Barney spotted everything that Argon saw on his roundabout walk the previous night, only with more people. None of the shops had less than ten people in them at any time, and the clothing stores never had less than twenty. He also spotted the main government seat, which was a large duracrete structure painted white, and a nearby small, squat building painted gray with a sign identifying it as the city's holding cells. Other than these things, nothing stuck out as too particular or really important for what they were looking for.

The bar he found was called the Dogged Duro, and had a window full of signs that looked as if they'd be brightly lit at night for the moment were disabled. When Barney asked for a drink, the bartender, a gray Duro with no hair who was still setting chairs on the floor, didn't even look at him. He just said, "Sorry son, can't serve drinks before midday. Planetary law."
