"So far he seems to have left the evil path, but should he pose a threat to me or my friends I would not stand idly by, as you put it."

"Indeed, should I get even the slightest hint Larry is not his own man or pure of heart, I will personally see to it he is purged from this realm. Having one modding mage returned is bad enough, but if Larry were to take the mantle up again... I don't think the forums could stand against two mages tearing it apart at the seams." The arrow disapeared into the cloth-wrapped bundle it had been in and then back into the saddlebags. it was a puzzle he meant to solve, a lock to be picked, and he would see it's purpose in this game.

Fire and Pain

The creature howled as the pain overtook it again. it's metabolism was unique, and sent great pain through the beast whenever it was not feeding. killing and rending flesh eased the pain, as did feasting on meat, fresh meat was the preferred diet, but carrion would serve just as well in times of need. The green ones had come again, and again he had feasted well. They were learning though, fleeing his rage instead of striking, trying to lead him, but they were slow, and his claws were sharp.

The beast paused to lick the bits of flesh from it's claws. The pain was slight now, and it could think clearly. It remembered two lives, one as a lord in pits of flame, slaying lesser creatures with an act of will alone. The other life was one of fear, whips and bullies. The chieftain had sent him to the knight as an offering, and he had gone, chained, beaten near to death, and then, he had been shackled to a slab. As the pain grew while it thought intelligence faded from it's eyes. The greenskins were coming again, trying to be stealthy, but failing of course. In the darkness he was home, and the goblins were afraid. a flash of teeth and razor edged claws and the goblins fell screaming, all but one that fled. It was fast for a goblin, and so the Render chased it.

The chase led into the light, where the goblin tripped, and became a meal.

The trap was set, and the beast was now caught. Too busy with it's meal to stop the walls of force that formed around it, or the iron walls that came up behind it, forming a square box to hold the beast.

The Reaper heaved a sigh of relief, the thing was very powerful, but it had been preying on his slaves and servants for more than a month, and it would be much better served by being unleashed in a suitable direction than roaming free causing chaos as it wanted.

A warning buzz sounded in his mind, Bleeding Soul was speaking again, and again the warrior drew the blade, feeling the purity of evil and chaos rampaging within. Another was near, A being who had no business being near to the lands of his one-time servant. Retribution would be swift, and any servivors would beg for death before he was done.

A step sideways and he was within the shadowlands, a misty border that touched all places, and he walked.

ooc forgive the sig, but the creature caught is the beastie in my sig-pic.

Morguerat Reaper of Men

The walk was short, and the shadowed one apparently had not seen him, the wolves would soon sense him though, their senses were sensitive to spirits and those within the shadowlands*. Stepping into the lands of light He saw the druidess and the Modding Mage in conversation. With the Sword held ready he walked forward boldly, daring anything to try and attack him.

The figure is that of a man, large and strongly musceled, shrouded in a black cloak, wearing full plate armor, painted with dyes made from the black blood of fiends. Spikes adorn the joints and shoulders, and a helm with an ebon skull carved into the faceplate sits atop the bearers head. His walk is the controlled stride of a man who is ready, at any step, to turn and strike with blade or sharpened armor, and fell his prey.

A booming voice, so unlike the last time Kaylisa saw Morguerat echoes through the clearing. "You trespass near my domain, leave or pay the toll, The eyes are locked on the shadow confident that he speaks from a position of strength and that his "pet" is on the way with surprises for the uninvited guests. "Mage, your toll is a vial of your ichor, blood, or whatever you call it, Druidess, your toll is three of your canine companions."

The Shadow Mage

The Shadowed One had been expecting Tao to attack him, and when he saw the peculiar look in her eyes, he then realized that somebody was behind him. Then that somebody spoke, and the Mage smiled from within his cloak. He casually turned his back on Tao to greet the newcomer.

"Why Sir Morgie. What a pleasure! You did not have to come all the way down here to say hi. You are being quite foolish to interrupt my little chat with the lady here. It seems that it is time to teach you a lesson."

The Mage stepped into the shadow of a nearby tree and vanished. A moment later, he appeared again behind the Reaper and rasied his hand, unleasing a black bolt of lightning. Before the blast had touched the victim, The Mage had again vanished but then reappeared where he had started, next to Tao.

Inquisitor Marcos of Snowdale - 98/98

Inclining his head, he accepted their responses.
"They are always good times, those upon which we realise we might not be alone in our desire for a world of virtues.
Silverfall has sent you to retrieve an item for him, that he might practice his disturbance of those long since put to rest. Although I highly doubt the notion of such grand modding of fate can spring from the mind of one sane, pure and powerless I have yet to judge and shall not stop you in your search.
I do, however, ask that you do not suffer him see or touch, let alone hold the item he has asked you to find. You should speak truthfully the reason if he asks, but withhold from him the reagent until more is known about its powers and the grip the mage still has over him.
"

The inquisitor mounted.

"And think whilst you walk or ride on this. Why is Silverfall so suddenly in such a hurry to recover artifacts which will bring to life someone already dead and waiting a long time, that he would send a group of strangers unsupervised to bring back one of them?
Perhaps he cannot take this item from its hiding place himself, perhaps those who know him know he ought not have it in his possession. These are but pointers in possible directions, your minds seem keen and undoubtedly capable of thinking up reasons of their own accord.

"I apologise here and now if you feel I advocate suspicion. I but seek to grow within you all in very little time, a measure of caution and care, for far more than a single thread may be at peril here."

Reaper HP=A lot/A lot

The speeds a shadow could move were astounding to any who watched such things, most people knew about the speed of light, and how incredbly fast it was, but the speed of dark (which all shadow was part of) was even faster, there before and after light, it was incredible to behold. The speed this shade moved, therefore surprised the armored man, although he did not let it show in his stance, and his mask covered any reaction his eyes might have betrayed.

The bolt of shadowed magics struck him from behind, forming a shroud around the Reaper, as his armor drank it in, and where a darkness had been moments before stood a dark man, chuckling at the confusion of the Mage, then then he brought his massive blade around in a wide arc slicing into the shadowy form of the Modding One, He spoke three words with a lifeless chill that would freeze the blood of most battle hardened veterans, "You Were Warned"

Roderik

"Actually good inquisitor, I had planned on examining this item in great detail before handing it over, There are many vile and dangerous candles out there, from the one, two, and three fingered hands to the darklight candles that fill the user with shadow, turning them into the undead while they burn (when the candle burns out the user suffers a most horrible fate) You can, of course, see my interest. If the purpose of the item is sinister it shall be dealt with appropriately, if it's use is neutral, then it shall be monitored with a blade readied to stop the bearer before he can bring harm to himself or those around him.

From the tales I've been told, Larry was always rash and foolish to say the least.
" Roderik rode in silence recalling tales he had heard, and finally stumbled across one that reminded him of a love lost, a girl of surpassing beauty and wit. Speaking the words quietly he said,
"It's the rain.
It's the storm we all
have to endure.

We hate it, but it's every
drop that runs down your face
that traces out
Who you are, Your shape.

This storm shows me so much
I accept all I see.
"

He'd been a youth then, stumbling over his prose, and not really interested in it, but it remained one of his favourites, from long ago.

Andrion Wilgor 58/60

As the group was getting ready to leave he said a few words of farewell to the inquisitor, then walked over to his horse and mounted. Windspeed neighed happily. He made a few steps forward, but Andrion pulled slightly on the reins and the horse stopped turning again to the inquisitor: "A word of advice: when dealing with Larry and his friends do not anger the druid who shall most certainly be with him." Andrion turned and with a gentle nudge of his right foot Windspeed started moving.

Silt 80/80

Silt listened carefully to the inquisitor, for despite his very forward and blunt perspective, he seemed to talk sense. Silt turned to him and honestly said "Farewell inquisitor, I hope we speak again.I will pay heed to your words, do not worry, but I will strive to keep Larry from evil" and that was it. Nothing more, nothing less. He then turned and started to walk with Andirion, he knew they would meat again....
