ooc- Thanx Morgy, I've received and read both pms

ic- Gwynne felt a prickling sensation in her scalp, and glanced up to find two figures staring at her. Standing back up on her position on the fence, she crossed her arms below her chest and blatantly stared back. She was too uneasy to approach the two herself, but if she was approached... well, that was a different story all together. Gwynne spared the building behind them another fleeting look. "He is not here," she thought to herself with a sigh.

She gathered herself and crouched slightly, then sprung into the air and performed a forward flip, landing lightly on one foot on the ground. Gwynne peered at the two figures again, as she rubbed her hands together to regain some warmth into her limbs. She realised that it was not wise of her to show off her new skills like that, but Gwynne couldn't contain the impish streak in her that goaded her to exhibit her ability to her small audience.

ooc- don't worry Mistral, who ever said that we're not allowed to do that when we're older? *hugs teddybear* ^^

OOC to get things moving along and keep people from being kept on hold for too long, it is now noon of New Years Day, 1999. Those who don't walk the night searching for blood can interact as needed, and we can assume any introductions for new members have been made.

For Mystral

You awake from your restful dreams into a place born of nightmares, you find yourself strapped to a table, arms above your head, still in the clothes you fell asleep in, your stuffed doggie is nowhere to be seen. Your hands are lashed at the wrist in leather thongs and tied somewhere over the top of the table, your feet hang relatively loose, but with shackles binding your ankles to your feet, your wrists don't chaffe yet, but soon will if you struggle.

The room before you is a mad scientists nightmare, about ten feet to your left beakers spew strangely colored smoke that quickly settles into the dirt floor, the bunsen burners providing the only faint light in the room, what it reveals you wish would stay hidden, a man (using the term loosely) that looks like a burn victim shuffles along, his one foot more of a monstrous claw than a human appendage, his other foot is a peg-leg of fused bone the skin ends just below his deformed knee. His back is hunched and where it is exposed from his burlap tunic it is a mass of scar tissue and a spiderweb of raised white lines that could be from a whip or perhaps something worse. His hands are even worse, one has three fingers that look almost like hooves, while the other has eight fingers nearly six inches long each, very delicate looking.

The man-thing shufles over to a nearby table and swings it up by the hinges placed midway on it, pulls it around where you can see it. The thing you see before you was last night the man who saved you in the alleyway, now he has been vivisected, his the skin of his bare chest has been pulled back and pinned to the his table, the exposed flesh has been stripped away revealing a bony ribcage that has also been pulled apart, you can see the poor man's heart beating and the shallow rise and fall of his lungs. Luckily for him he seems barely conscious, and drugged beyond caring.

The thing grins at you and says in a raspy voice "The Master is very interested in what you were doing with thisssss... Man-thing last night." It then sticks it's fingers into the mans abdomen and pulls out a ropy mass, licks it once and then drops it, pulling out the mans intestines, smiling horribly at you the entire time.

For Gwynne

Your arrival went better than you thought, Orrick received you and ensured that you were brought up to speed on the events that would take place this night, once night fell the kindred would proceed to the lair of a dangerous fiend who would reveal to them the information he knew. Being a paranoid vampire (as most were) he rarely ventured forth, and had only his expendable servants deliver messages, he was as interested in these "Hunters of the ultimate predators" as anyone else in the underworld, and was typically more effective at getting the information he wanted from them than most vampires would care to admit (after all they are proud creatures, and never like to admit that someone else can do something better than they could).

After the meetings before he went to his private offices he opening his veins to your hunger, sating your dark thirst for one more night.

Mistral
The silent screams beat against her eardrums, shattering her inner peace and sending tremors to the room of horror. Gagging, she closed her eyes and clenched her fists ~ Stay conscious, damn it! ~ Her blood circulation ceased for a split second, then resumed its normal course of flow ~ So many things… ~ She blinked, forcing out the tears ~ … you need to know… ~ Yet the grotesque sight before her made her retch uncontrollably ~ … you can't die without finding out… ~ The mucus from her nose ran unstopped, past her lips and chin ~ Does it matter? ~ She felt the beads of perspiration forming upon her temples ~ What could happier fate can await me, apart from a swift release from this living hell? ~ The hammering within her skull was unbearable, and the terror gnawed appreciatively at her heart. She was losing faith… if she had any to begin with…

A stream of vomit trickled down from each corner of her lips and she lowered her pallid face, acutely aware that she was losing consciousness herself ~ Do I… or don't I… ~ The memory of her brutalized saviour was forever etched in her mind, replaying and rewinding itself maliciously ~ Answer him… ~ The room was spinning ~ or it… ~ She whimpered softly ~ … whatever this monster is… ~ Her lips parted, but all that came out was a puddle of saliva that splashed onto her soiled bedclothes.

Beaulie… where are you… my darling…

Gwynne licked her lips and sat up. The light from the sun flickered in weakly from behind the shades in the window as she stretched amid her rumpled sheets. The girl licked her lips again, remembering Orrick. When she met him, Gwynne was unsure whether to trust him or not, but "Barakah" did say to go to that casino when in need... she just hoped it was the right person she was approached by. At least she knew where that lovely drug came from now.

"A part of you, that lovely taste..." she sighed in her mind as she stretched again luxuriously. Orrick was stronger than "Barakah," she could tell that much. Gwynne wasn't sure how, but it had something to do with the taste of that drug... "Blood. Stop saying 'drug,' it's not going to make it sound any better," Gwynne reminded herself.

She flickered her eyes lazily about the rather large bedroom of her new, delux flat, thanks to "Barakah" 's funding. Gwynne debated going and finding a new job, or sitting around her new apartment, drinking coffee and reading a novella. "Tonight should prove to be interesting," she said aloud, a side of her mouth curling up into a smile.

The creature shuffles towards you, and a third eye opens from the side of it's milky white head, it examines you with the snake-like orb perched above it's left ear, and then using it's delicate hand scrapes some of the vomit off your bedclothes, licking them off of it's fingers, and chuckling evilly as it shambles behind you. You hear a heavy door on rusty hinges pulling open, then more shuffling steps and the door creaks closed, leaving you in near darkness with your rescuer, and yourself tied in the darkness.

The man whose card had identified him as "Doc119" looks at you with glassy eyes and tries to speak, a series of low burbles and gurgles is all he can manage, but his eyes begin to reflect the pain he must be in as the drugs begin wearing off.

A few minutes later and you can begin to make out some of the words "
Told... nothing... innocents... protect...stroy fiends... flee." his words then became too garbled from the pain and he looks at you with resolution, and pity, for he knows the sort of tortures you are likely to face from "the Master".

For Gwynne

The passes without incedents, and as night falls you are rested and relaxed, still a bit tense from anticipating tonight, but you've avoided falling into the trap of overthinking your duties, and when the valet, arrives to take you to meet the others you find yourself mildly surprised that evening has come so quickly.

For all other vampires

Evening arrived, waking you from your slumber, the familiar Hunger stirs again, but the need for sustenance is not all consuming this time as it has been in the past, you are gathered again into the room Orrick met with you in the previous night, the acrobatic human is also in the room, trying not to smirk at something, and as Orrick arrives shortly after the last vampire arrives, he turns to the assembled group and informs you that in one hour the limo will arrive to take you to the lair of the fiend, he would provide any equipment you desire (within reason) before going to see the Tzimisce, Velo Rasthmeson, and he hinted at a reward for... permanently removing him, after obtaining the needed information.

Gwynne was sitting perched on a table along the back wall of the room during the meeting, so she was able to keep a good eye on all the proceedings, as well as the entrances and exits. She trusted "Barakah" 's judgement, but even he couldn't foresee a hungry vampire making a snack out of her. Gwynne had done some reading on vampires during the day in order to refresh her memory. It had been a long time since she had last read that fiction novel, Dracula. Before leaving her nice lodgings, Gwynne had changed into some dark coloured clothing in preparation of the "operation." It would be difficult to blend into the surroundings at night if she was wearing white or light colours. Not impossible, but difficult.

Once it appeared the meeting was winding down, the lithe girl moved her way to Orrick's side. "Not to sound ignorant, but who is... what is Tzimisce... Velo Rasthmeson? And what is his, er, it's weakness? If the weakness is unknown, if you have any guns then I would be quite handy with them." Gwynne cursed slightly in her head about the awkwardness of her speech. She disliked sounding ignorant, and she had wanted to try to impress the surrounding vampires. Or at least intimidate them enough to make them think twice before chomping her.

ooc- does anyone else find it ironic that the two "humans" are participating more than the vampires, who's thread this is originally? Post, Post, rah-rah-rah! *attempts to cheer* ^^; well, you get the idea...

Looking at Gwynne for a moment, then around the table he realised she wasn't the only one confused, "Tzimisce are one of the bloodlines, their original sire had certain abilities, which have been passed on to his brood, among which is the art of mangling, and reshaping flesh and bone, they also have greatly enhanced senses, and according to rumor can make beasts do their bidding. He is extremely overconfident, that's probably his greatest failing, but he's also been around for almost one thousand years, so he's well justified in being confident.

"Don't think that this mission is to kill him, although if you get a chance, by all means feel free to send him to his final death. But the reason you are going to to get information, Tzimisce are notorious for being gracious hosts, and will risk their own lives to protect their guests, as long as he doesn't think you have turned from a guest into a trespasser you'll be safe. Just remember your manners and don't freak out over his servants, he likes to "improve" on the human design and try to make the perfect slave.

"Are there any other questions?
"

He pulled a cell phone from his well tailored suit and talked into it for a few moments, then shortly afterwards a young man walked in with a suitcase, set it down in front of Gwynne and left quickly not even waiting for a thank you.

"umm, yes, I'd like an automatic hand gun, and some assorted parts to er, modify it with." Thalali spoke with nervousness, knowing that an accidental insult would end his second life.
