It All Began In A Restaurant (ALL ARE WELCOME)

At another part of the world...

A pale hand was closed around a glass goblet, containing a crimson liquid; the person seated in a tall, black leather chair. A dark shadow appeared behind the being.
"Sir, the situation from a few years ago has now become active. If I were you, I would deal with the problem quickly, before others hear of it.." spoke the shadowed creature, bowing.
*pause* "Thank you for informing me. Tell me if the situation changes in the slightest," the person in the chair spoke, swirling the liquid in its goblet.
"Yessir." The shadow faded away, and once again the being was alone in the room. It gave a dry sigh, and said "So long ago... I wonder how she is doing, without me or..." it trailed off sadly, and somewhat cautiously. "musn't speak, spies all about," it muttered darkly, shattering the goblet clutched in its grasp. The liquid dripped down to the floor slowly, staining the darkness.

His jaw muscles tighten as he hears Clarissa's wry comment, and his fists clench, almost shaking in rage. Somewhere in his mind, a cold voice orders ~ Keep your cool... this could be a potential witness... and any violence you display now could be used against you, if this... chit... would sue you in court. ~ Turning away with a "harrumph!", he fixes his gaze on the ground and draws in a long, slow breath of air.

With an effort, the tensed muscles relax a little and he faces the injured pedestrian once more ~ "You realise of course that you were partly to blame for this accident?" ~ Not waiting for a reply, he continues calmly ~ "I am willing to foot half of your medical expenses. That would be a more than fair amount." ~ Shooting a warning glance at Clarissa to silence her.


Clarissa

The memory of his latest brutal assault still fresh in her memory, she stiffens and the colour drains from her face as she catches the veiled threat ~ I'm a dead woman, whatever I do... ~ Fingers toy with the clasp of her handbag nervously, as the ominous voice speaks silently within ~ I should never have dumped him... I am paying the price of treachery... ~ A wave of nausea hits her, and she begins to sway on her feet.


Arthur

Seeing his chance, he grips Clarissa by the arm ~ "Whoa... steady now, Denise." ~ Tosses a glance at Skye ~ "If you'll let me have your contact address, I'll be in touch with you. My... friend here, obviously needs some help or rest, at least."

Reaching into his pocket for a scrap of paper while supporting Clarissa with the other hand, he hands it over to Skye, then produces a pen for her to scribble on it.

Skye was a little suspicious. She's usually very trustworthy of people, but most people tend to get cautious after they've been hit by a car. Skye was no exception. And the woman seemed to be very nervous and upset about something. Patting herself, Skye answered in surprise "Actually, I don't seem to be hurt very much at all, except for a small bruise or cut here and there, and this pounding headache. Giving a small smile to the man, she added "So don't bother worrying about doctor expenses. I wouldn't have been able to afford them anyways." While the car was stopped at a red light, she opened the door and stepped out. "Sorry if I gave either of you a scare. I'll try to be more careful where I step," Skye said, slightly embarrassed. Closing the door tightly, she walked around the stopped traffic and wove her way throught the crowd on the sidewalk, trying to put as much space between herself and the vehicle. 'That was really wierd..' she thought to herself musingly, as she tried not to bump into anyone.

OOC- sorry bout that, somehow the computer sent my reply when I had barely started.. ^_^;;
btw, is Albert able to sense other vampyre's powers, or sudden bursts of unnatural powers? if he can, would he have sensed Skye's small flare of her hidden "power" when she was hit by the car? (would be good to mention it in the next post, if that's the case. ^.~)

As the car halts, her frantic hands press the seatbelt button and open the car door in one swift movement. Heart pounding at the sound of Arthur's furious growl, she tears after Skye, screaming ~ "Wait for me!"


Arthur

Blast! ~ He slams the car-horn in frustration, ignoring the irate fist movements of the driver in front ~ "I've lost her, all because of that pest!" ~ It is impossible to start chasing the two girls, not after that conspicuous accident earlier.

Gritting his teeth, he drives on, eyes flashing in deadly anger.

IC- Hearing someone's footsteps behind her, Skye turned around quickly, to see the woman running after her. Raising an eyebrow in curiousity, Skye waited for the woman to catch up to her on the sidewalk. Noticing the chagrine(sp?) on the man's face, she nearly laughed out loud.
