Panadin2/sorcerer means to make a char with two levels of paladin and the rest is sorcerer. If it would say PaladinX2/Sorcerer, that means that for every level of sorcerer you take two levels of paladin etc. Yes, adding 2 levels of pally is enough to be immune to fear and take the Holy Avenger which gives you an added 15/30(not really, still 15) spell resistance and the class gives an extra 12 hp, 1 BAB and 1 fortitude save. Sorcerers gain nothing at levels 29 and 30 except for one more in low level spells at 29. Same thing allowed Marty to add a level of mage to wear the Cloak of Mystra.
Oh, and if I would have made a solo sorcerer or wizard, I'd definetly make him Chaotic Evil if I were to powergame. Immunity to Blasphemy, Unholy Blight and the like is excellent, and it also allows you to wield the Xvimian Fang. Sometimes I have an urge to go totally powergamy* on IWD2. *powergamy is a word copyrighted by Marty4, all rights reserved.

Good idea with playing an evil sorcerer, I didn't think about the spell immunity. Oh well, being a drow I doubt any spells will be affecting me by that point. |

Ok, I just got home. So, what weapons skills etc. should I choose during the Paladin lvls?
Oh, and what's with that dead cat I find in the warehouse? [ 06-27-2005, 07:13 PM: Message edited by: Variol (Farseer) Elmwood ]

Take it with you and never drop it from your inventory until one of the three men tell you to do otherwise. If you don't meet the three men, then forget about it.
And talk to Hedron's mother.

Assuming you are going with a paladin2/sorcerer and two other sorcerers, I would do this:
For the first guy, take ambidextery and two weapon fighting (unless you are a wild elf, in which case take a level of ranger). Get focus in longsword if you wish, it is only +1 to hit. Be sure to eventually get dirty fighting and improved critical. Later on, get greater spell penetration and spell focus: evocation. For the second guy, take the dual wielding feats, and dual wield shortswords. Have a high DEX and take the weapon finesse feat for very accurate strikes. Get the spell feats. For the third guy (who will definitely be in the rear), I would take a quarterstaff as an item, or maybe a dagger or two. Take the appropriate weapon feats, and focus on spell feats. Have all three get as much spellcraft as they can in the early levels. Once they have a spellcraft of 10-INT modifier, take the spirit of flame feat (or other prefered element focus feat) and put the rest of your skills into concentration. |

These are all wild Elves. Should I go Ranger with all of them instead?

Keep at least one paladin. That holy avenger sword is the best longsword in the game.

Well, looks like I 'm stuck with Rangers. I must not have the stats for Paladin 'cos I couldn't choose it at lvl up. Should I go 2 lvls of Ranger? These are all wild elves btw.

Remember, paladins must be Lawful Good. If you don't want to dalekeep them to that, then go with 2 levels of ranger for one or two of them, but keep at least one a pure sorcerer. If you do dalekeep one to Lawful Good, then give him two levels of paladin and one level of ranger.

Wow, Marty, you've changed! I didn't know that was you postin' at first. I already have them all as Lvl 2 Ranger and Lvl 2 Sorc. I'll keep it. I can always get the holy av. next time.
